    Fits a 4.5-5 qt. Kitchen-Aid Bowl Lift

    Fits a 4.5-5 qt. Kitchen-Aid "BOWL LIFT." I was looking for a stainless steel replacement for my coated aluminum one that I put in the dishwasher and burned the plating off. My Bad!! My mixer is a very old bowl lift and Kitchen-Aid does not make a replacement in stainless steel for those models. Who knows why, but that's a fact. However, doing lots of research, and then purchasing this one, it absolutely fits perfect, even though it's listed for 5-6 qt. There is a difference in Beater sizes for bowl lift and tilt head. I think the main thing is to measure the overall Height and Width and compare it to the dimensions given in the description, and then know that the spindle size on the Kitchen-aid is 1/2 inch diameter. So your Beater should have a 1/2" hole. Other than that, you should be good to go. It's 304 stainless steel. Indestructible and dishwasher safe.

    Check your model number, works great with older mixers

    I have an old Kitchen Aid mixer from the 80's that I love and is still working great. The attachments it came with still work, but the ceramic-type coating on one is starting to flake off at the top a bit. I looked at the model number on my mixer to make sure this attachment was compatible before purchasing it. I have used it a few times and it seems to work well for the most part. It does not get as close to the bottom of the bowl as I would like, but it's probably not much worse than the original so I can't complain. I like how the sides are a bit flat verses rounded because it makes it easier to scrape off. I have put it in the dishwasher and it seems to be fine.

    MEASURE YOURS FIRST!!!

    If you purchase the right size this is an excellent beater. Compare the measurements. The site description at the time I ordered it was a bit misleading. The size that is advertised as 7qt is actually the size of my 6qt and 5.5qt beaters. I measured the overall width of my beater and matched it to the measements given in the photos. I ordered the 7qt item and it is perfect! The package that came was even labelled as 7qt. So...?The quality of materials is far superior to the original KA beaters. One of ours left grey swirls in cake batter. (According to Kitchenaid that was our fault for washing it...?) The other was their improved(?), grey-painted one that left paint chips literally the second time we used it.These stainless beaters have proven to be amazing in all aspects. The curvature is just slightly different, but not enough to matter, especially if you add wet ingredients to the bowl first. But even the factory-original beaters required some bowl scrapping midway through some recipes.
