Pretty cool for what they are... Not bad
These unusual forks came in a small box, and each fork was individually packaged in a small plastic bag (fancy 😉).Right away I thought they seemed a little longer than the normal dinner fork in my drawers. So I got one out and attached pictures comparing them, they are just a tad longer in their compressed state. And in their expanded elongated state they are ridiculously long!There's a dimple made in each just below the fork section and I believe that's to reinforce strength. Overall they are not weak, they are not noticeably super hefty either... I tried to bend a prong but didn't succeed with mediocre effort. As you can see they're pretty sleek and modern looking in the compressed 'in the drawer' state. I hadn't thought of this before getting them, but I'm a little worried about when I wash them and I think I better leave them fully extended to dry them. Or wash in a way that isn't fully submerged.When they are extended they are very similar to an old school telescoping antenna... But I think even when fully extended they're a little bit stronger than the old TV antennas used to be.

Fun and Convenient But Not Perfect
Telescopic Fork - Reviewed May 2025.I initially bought these telescopic forks out of curiosity since I don't really do much BBQing. They seemed like a fun gadget to try, and let me tell you, they certainly are fun! Extending and retracting the fork amuses me, and it also thoroughly confuses my cat who tries to snatch bites between my plate and my mouth.These forks would definitely be a hit at a BBQ or for roasting marshmallows for s'mores. However, I encountered a small hiccup when trying to cut food with the side of the fork. Because of the telescoping design, the fork tends to rotate and doesn’t lock laterally, which makes slicing with it a bit tricky. It would be great if there were a way to lock it into place. Until then, I just keep a knife handy for any cutting needs, even small ones a regular fork could handle. Overall, they add a playful twist to meals but might need a little improvement in the functionality department.

More Uses than you realize....
A lot of people buy these as a gag to take food of another person's plate. Truth be told, they're actually quite practical. Because the juncture where the fork head is attached is so sturdy...these have lots of applications. The telescopic function is also quite firm...so it won't slide easily on its own to a length that wasn't intended. This makes them ideal for using with the barbeque grill. I also use them for checking doneness in my standard item. I do have Ove Gloves...but since they don't make a ball gown length (up to the elbow) and I have a habit of NOT pulling out the rack in the oven to check things, I usually get burn marks on the back of my arms from touching the top rack. These forks will solve that issue. Also, they're great for use in tall jars or pitchers. I'm enjoying these a lot more than I thought. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly sturdy even when fully extended.Also surprisingly low priced for five of them.Forget fun for kids, I am planning a sneak attack at the next family get together. I need to get even with our son. lolI think these would also work well for roasting marshmallows and smokies or maybe even for fondue. They are completely made of metal so they would hold up to the heat of the campfire.Definitely used this for spearing a pickle out of a large pickle jar. :)Who knew how handy an extendable fork could be? lol

EXTENDO FORK ME
You know you need these. So stupid you must have it! Functional, silly, and yes, you can swipe a forkful o' mashed potatoes from a few feet away. Also double as a bit of a roasting fork for camping, but lean it on a rock etc, it's metal, the whole thing will get hot, and it's not so sturdy you're going to want to dangle a dog over an open flame while holding it. Also doubles as a back scratcher. NICE! GIDDYUP.

Several drawbacks
A bit bendy when fully extended, but not bad for a 2 foot length. Would not bear a great deal of force, like lifting a big heavy steak. The fork end is securely fastened to the handle, but since the handle is an antenna, there is nothing to keep it from twisting sideways. Food can get trapped in the gaps in the joint between fork and handle. This is a utility fork, not a fork you would want to put in your mouth. The tips of the tines are blunt cut leaving them with sharp edges and the tines themselves are square cut with no finishing or rounding. At $10 for 5, a good value in spite of these limitations.
