5 stars with personal caveats
4-qt saucepan w/ lid. I've only used to make oatmeal and reheat leftovers so far. While not the most expensive 3-ply option, still sets you back about $100 at time of review, so felt fair to compare to a much cheaper pan, and a name-brand $$$ option. Details:Pros - Looks good. Rivets appear sturdy. Compared to my cheap SS pan with only a 3-ply disc on the bottom, cook is much more even, no hot spots, just feels better. Definitely recommend 3-ply construction all around. Hand-wash clean-up is easy, soaked in soapy water first, just like my other SS cookware.Cons - Obscure brand sold only on Amazon, made in China which is only stated on sticker on box, not online or on the pan itself (see pic), and no warranty... vs All-C**d, well-established company, "bonded, engineered and assembled in the USA" per website (only the handles made in China), with lifetime warranty. This pan is currently less than half price of those pans, but personally, if I already had $100 to spend on a saucepan, I'd wait until I saved up more and get the reputable brand with the warranty. Also, the unexpected, cheap little oven mitt "bonus" does the opposite of add value imo; it feels like an attempt to garner goodwill to compensate for something lacking in the product. Everything has a cost, "free" gifts I'll never use is wasteful and a turn-off. I'm sure not all agree.Potential Con - "Please DON'T use metal utensils in daily to avoid polished surface scratch" advised in description. Possible that it may only cause barely-visible scratch marks that aren't harmful, but such a warning did not come with my other pans; been using metal (and wood) utensils in my SS cookware forever and hasn't affected performance at all.Neutral - Holds 8oz (1 cup) less than 4 quarts when filled to the top; my other pans (including my other 4qt pan) held their stated volume. Doesn't bother me but worth mentioning since it's unusual.Unsure - Felt lighter than my pricier saucepans. My heavyweight 4qt saucepan isn't apples to apples, so checked the A.Cl**d's legit site for specs of comparable 3-ply/4qt saucepan; total weight -pan and lid) is 4.45lb (71.2oz). This Rokasala stated weight is 3.7lb (59.2oz), my kitchen scale showed 60.0oz, for a difference of 10.7-12oz. I like the sturdier feel of heavier pans, but how much difference it actually makes in performance or longevity I cannot say with confidence atm.I take time to write honest reviews that I would find helpful. At less than half price of my name-brand stuff I can't really expect the exact same product. 5 stars because there’s no obvious defects, and I’m happy with performance and clean-up so far. In this case, I also feel there are benefits to paying more, which comes down to personal preference. For example, I would give my "good" stuff 5 stars even though it's expensive, and my cheap stuff 3 or 4 stars because I don't think the lower price is worth the tradeoff in performance but it will cook food. Hope that helps!
