This little gadget is a real game changer for me. After years of hating the regulator that came with my stove top canner I found this . It works like a charm. If you just insert the gadget that is for 5 pounds of pressure , then the next ring makes ten pounds of pressure and if you need the 15 pounds of pressure for your area then there is a second ring.
You have to pull the little c clip off to remove the weight rings. It isn't easy to remove but after you do it works perfectly.
Was not aware it had 3 rings that separates? I was used to the standard 15 pound ONE piece regulator as sold by Presto ? Something totally new to me ? I read each ring is 5 pounds pressure indicator ? Anyway, is mine now and I guess we will find out ? I probably would not have purchased if I had been more careful.

This eliminates the need to have your regulator calibrated and is never wrong. I took off a star because there are no markings or instructions on what the weight is or how to use it which seems like a simple, basic thing a company shoudl provide. I watched some quick videos and never looked back.. Other that that it works well and the sound cues means you can do something else while you are pressure canning besides watching the dial.
