Well-Made and Easy to Use
I bought this coffee distributor and tamper for my espresso setup, and it’s worked really well. It has a nice weight to it, which helps with even pressure and makes it feel sturdy in the hand. The adjustable depth is easy to set, and it does a great job leveling the grounds before tamping. It fits perfectly with my Breville portafilter and feels like a quality tool. Its ok but not my favorite
I bought 3 different coffee distribution tools recently and this was the one I used the least. The concept of having a distributor and tamper in one is nice but in practice it feels a bit clunky switching between the two heads. The adjustable depth feature works fine but I found it hard to dial in exactly where I wanted it, took a lot of trial and error. The spiral distributor head does an ok job leveling the grounds but I got better results with my standalone distributor. The tamper side feels solid and the flat base works well enough for tamping. Fits my Breville 54mm portafilter fine with no wobbling. Build quality seems decent, stainless steel and feels sturdy. My issue is it just doesn't feel as smooth or natural to use compared to my other tools, maybe its the weight distribution or the shape but something feels off.

A Do-It-All Tool That Won't Let You Down
I have been sceptical of using all-in-one distribution and tamping tools, as I have always believed that separate tools for each job are better. Recently, my coffee tamp bit the bullet, so I thought it was time to give these do-it-all tools a go. I got the LAOION 53.3mm distributor and tamper, and for the most part, I am pleased.First of all, this tool is weighty. The whole tool is made of high-quality metal, and the fit and finish really impressed me. The tool twists open in the middle, which allows for two things: easy cleaning and depth adjustment of the distributor and tamp. The design is nice overall, though I am not a fan of the large LAOION branding that sticks out like a sore thumb.Adjusting the tool is simple. Once you have loosened the tool, you simply screw each side of the tool to set the depth. Once you are done, you tighten the tool. I was able to adjust both the tamp and the distributor within a minute. The biggest drawback of this particular tool is that the tamp is not spring-weighted, which is why it gets four stars instead of five.The tamp of mine that broke applied 30lb of force perfectly. This tool, well, it depends on how much coffee you have in your portafilter. I have mine set so that the tamp sits ever so slightly above the rim of the portafilter when prepared grounds are in it. I then apply pressure, and the grounds are perfectly tamped. The grounds are level every single time. I have not pulled a bad shot of espresso since using it.If you're on the fence about buying this, don't be. Once you have it configured correctly, it works perfectly all the time.

I'm always trying to find ways to improve my espresso's. This distributer has been added to my prep process which haa made a difference for me is a quality product that is will made. It fits into my Breville plus portafilter nicely. It functions as a leveler to ensure my grounds are leveled before tamping. It is very easy to use and it has added better taste to my coffee as the extractions are now more even. Overall, it's a good value as I use this item on a daily basis.
