I was hoping that this would help me get a more even extraction on my Breville Barista Express and reduce channeling and sputtering. After a dozen or so side-by-side shots, I would say it's been a moderate success; the improvement is noticeable but definitely not a game changer. In the photos, the shot was pulled with the screen for the red mug and without the screen for the green mug.Build quality is high and the screen seems very solid and the edges are pretty smooth. I'm pretty skeptical about the claim that it keeps the brew head cleaner and haven't noticed a difference there, but that was never something I was looking for. Overall, it's not a time saver.I'll probably keep using it, since I like tinkering with my process and I'm not 100% sure that I'm using it to it's greatest potential. That said, it's an extra step in the prep process and I have to fish it out of my knock box after I remove the puck, and then it's an extra (although admittedly easy) item to clean. For more casual users it's probably not worth the hassle.

Thin filter is great
I went with the thin screen and am quite happy about it. The screen is quite sturdy, but very thin so I don't have to adjust the ratio of grounds in my portafilter. It fits perfectly in my Breville Bambino Plus portafilter. I'm impressed with how easy it is to clean the screen. I just run it under some moderate-pressure hot water and boom, no more grounds stuck in the screen. If this were harder to clean, I don't think it would be worth it. But I can easily clean this at the same time as my portafilter, which makes it easy to recommend.So how does it work? Better than expected. I've been having issues with channeling in my shots, and this screen has definitely helped with that. It's not a night and day difference, but it has helped me have better water distribution through my puck. Regarding machine cleanup -- the screen helps keep the metal espresso grid almost completely clear of coffee. Given that this screen is easy to clean, that itself will make it worth it for some people.If you're looking for a thin screen that is durable, easy to clean, will help keep your machine clean, and may help slightly with channeling... this may be your ticket.

Better espresso and a cleaner machine, works perfect with Ninja Luxe Cafe
I got this puck screen to improve my shots using the Ninja Luxe Cafe and to keep the showerhead from getting coated in wet coffee grounds. The 0.7mm thickness is just enough to sit flush on the grounds and not press them further when inserted in the machine. After dialing it in I was able to get more consistent shots with less channeling, better immersion, and even pressure. More importantly, it protected the showerhead from getting covered in espresso sludge. I've noticed that the taste of my espresso is a little more consistent as it's much easier to prevent the machine from sucking up and accumulating old spent grounds that leak into your brews. High Quality, Nicely Finished Honeycomb Pattern 18/8 Stainless Steel Puck Screen
I was so impressed with this puck screen I wanted to review it right after receiving it. The quality was far better than expected. I review a lot of espresso gear for Vine - pretty much everything I am offered, that I see in time before someone else picks it, and anything that looks intriguing in the espresso category, I try to review. This screen is a nice one. I have a few of this type, and this is the nicest by far. What I like about it is that it is very light for this type of design, it is stamped as 18/8 steel, and it is nicely finished at the edges, and highly polished, not rough. One small thing I appreciate is the honeycomb pattern of hexagons, rather than tightly packed circles - that's a bit more efficient in terms of space and gives you a bit more flow through. I also like that this one is stamped with the name of the maker and the exact diameter. I've ordered several others that are similar that had rough edges and lacked all or some of the nice little touches and features you will find here. All in all its a very nice puck screen, and the list price is very fair. Highly recommended!
