This WILL mill Flour

I ordered this for both home flour making and for small farm animal feed milling.Just got it today.Package was packaged inside another box, which had some gouges in it but the inner package was fine.Everything came as described. All sieves were accounted for, with an extra attached to the mill (so I ended up with a total of 8).It isn't as heavy as I expected it to be so I was able to carry to the house with no issue.After taking it apart, cleaning everything and attaching the sieve I wanted, I gave it a test run on making chickpea/garbanzo flour from whole garbanzo beansI truly thought I wouldn't get the fine mill I was hoping for but was completely surprised that I absolutely DID get it.I only milled for maybe 20 to 30 seconds and was happy with the outcome.I used an electric dough maker's bowl, wide enough to keep from going all the way to the bottom of the bucket - and it caught 99.5% of the processed flour.No powder or flour escaped the bucket, but be ready to open and find a fine, floury/powdery film on everything inside.Take your sieve off and empty the remains.I used a new, 1 inch wide paintbrush to brush all the parts off and then washed the sieve and bucket. Once they were dried, everything was put back together and it's ready for the next use.I would definitely recommend an air blower, along with the brushing, to help with keeping dust cleared from parts.The hopper can be removed to expose the motor, if necessary, to clean.After using only once, so far, I'm absolutely happy with the purchase, as it will serve dual purpose for home and barn use (until the home mill I want becomes available again).

Good Grinder

I have only used this twice so far, but straight out of the box impressed. I wanted something to grind cheap grain into meal for homestead animals, and consider making our own flour. It works great on oats and wheat so far. Took it straight out of box, and had meal made in less than 15 minutes.

Big grinder that grinds quickly (sometimes too quick)

This is a high quality grinder. It comes with a lot of different filters which are put onto the bottom where the blade is to control the size of the finished grain. It only had one speed and is very loud.It is easy to set up, the the top fits well onto the grinding bucket.I like the adjustability of the grain size by changing the filter.One thing to be cautious about is to grind one grain at a time. It is tempting when making animal feed to add all of the dry grains and ingredients and then grind or mill them together. Because of the different products going in, they can be ground too much and end up being powder. If you just grind one thing at a time (like dried corn) it will not pulverize everything (you still get a little powder but not nearly as much)Overall, I’m happy with this item and the ability to feed my animals (I have goats, chickens and ducks) as well as make my own flour (not just wheat, rice flour or barley flour as well.It’s a good investment and I would recommend it!!

Not for indoor use, dusty when running

Received it yesterday, inspected and tightened motor Mount Allen screws, very loose, changed to next to largest screen and ran about three lines of corn, ran pretty fast and inspected results,a little fine for my hobby, went to largest screen and ran five gal pail of corn thru in several minutes and it looks good, it crushs smaller than screen holes so start large, I got some powder corn but 98% crushed flakes, will update to five stars if it lasts, .Cleaning wasn't bad but static elec holds dust , I added a vamoose packet. To the storage to keep critters away.

The main bearing seized after two uses. The piece was totally disabled and useless. Nobody to contact or no way to return. Worked well first two times. I cleaned it very well between uses but the bearing still seized. Not worth the money for two good grinds

Take it apart and put it back together with locktight

Vibrations from significant use of this device can lead to unplanned disassembly, the result of which can lead to damage to the grind arm and metal in your milled product.Make sure to check all nuts before each use and remember hand tight isn't tight at all.Otherwise, the variety of screens and durability of the motor itself are nice. After I check it out throughly and replace the damaged parts, I still have hope for the product.
