Authentic, made in Japan, Onigiri sushi mold, Works great!
The first thing I noticed about this onigiri mold is the outside of the box. It's all in Japanese. I was recently in Japan over Christmas and this item is definitely made in Japan. It's thoughtfully designed and works great. The overall case is well made of a durable plastic that easily releases the onigiri. The interior of the molds is made of a smooth dimpled plastic which helps with releasing the rice balls. There are two trays that sit inside and are used to press the sushi into a perfectly shaped triangle with rounded corners/edges. The unit is attached along one edge and folds open like a book. It lays flat for easy filling of each mold. The insert trays are used to press the shape fully into the mold and the case can even be closed and latched (with onigiri formed inside) and you can take the box with you for lunch rather than removing and wrapping the rice balls individually. It's very portable and convenient. The total number of onigiri you can make at one time is 6 pieces. You can make just enough for a meal or pop them out and make a large batch. Instructions on the side of the box show putting plastic wrap inside the molds prior to filling with rice and other ingredients to make for quick wrapping after they are formed. The over all quality of the plastic case and trays is very good, machine washable, light-weight and easy to store. It's very portable and convenient to use for travel to store your sushi so it doesn't get smashed during transit.Super easy to use and dish washer safe, I found this product to be a very good value for the price. It's authentic, made in Japan and the size and shape of your onigiri is perfect and matches the ones I saw sold in stores in Japan.

Love it
I've never been a fan of molding onigiri by hand, but this device made it very simple and fast to make a batch of six! I cooked one cup of (uncooked rice) and had a little less than one cup of extra (cooked) rice to spare after filling the mold. I recommend really packing the warm rice in tightly, pressing it well with the mold, and then refrigerate the entire device in order to get the onigiri to not fall apart. I used one of those flavored packets of tuna fish for a filling and it was the perfect amount for these six small size onigiri. I found that if you try to empty the mold when the rice is warm it doesn't stick together very well, and if you reheat the onigiri they can also fall apart a bit, but if you eat them cold they hold their form really well. I think this is a fantastic device and it is a total game changer for meal prepping a healthy lunch or snack. It was so quick and easy to make a batch of six onigiri. I can't wait to make more onigiri with different fillings. This device really brings a lot of nostalgia for when I used to buy onigiri for school lunches and now I'm realizing they taste so much better when you make them fresh yourself.

Easy to use, new family staple
My husband just loves rice. I have no explanation why but he absolutely loves rice. When he used to live in Hawaii he would often go to the convenience stores and pick up onigiri balls for a dollar and I knew he missed those days.Typically, I am the cook in this family but I knew he'd want to at least attempt making onigiri. I personally think he did great! We had leftover chicken and mixed that with some kewpie mayo and Sriracha. The pictorial instructions are clear as well. The first few came out a bit lanky but by the second batch we got the hang of it. We also almost massacred one while taking it out of the mold but the fork tool really came in handy!!I said before that my husband loves rice. I ate 3 while he ate 9. The quote of the day was from him: "Rice is just the perfect food".Next time, I plan on dressing the balls with furikake. If I use leftover chicken, I'm going to dice it finely as well. Also, while sandwiches can get soggy, rice won't. Maybe I'll try and make a pb&j onigiri now that I have this kit!

Well Made Mold That Makes Meal Prep So Much Easier
This onigiri mold is impressively well made. The plastic is thick and sturdy, much nicer than the thinner, flimsier rice molds I’ve seen before. It feels durable enough to handle very hot rice without warping, and I’m confident it will last a long time.I didn’t realize how convenient it would be to make six rice balls at once until I used this. It makes prepping lunches or putting together dinner so much faster compared to shaping them individually. Just be sure to lightly grease the molds first, once you do, the rice balls release cleanly and come out perfectly shaped every time. One unexpected bonus is the included spoon. It’s actually the perfect size and shape for filling the mold and adding your desired fillings to the center. It’s such a small detail, but it makes the whole process smoother.

Convenient multi-cavity onigiri mold for quick homemade rice balls
This 6 in 1 onigiri mold is very handy for making rice balls quickly. The triangular shape comes out neat and consistent, and the multi-cavity design saves a lot of time compared to shaping by hand.I like that it is foldable, so it does not take much storage space and is easy to carry for picnics or bento prep. The plastic feels sturdy, and the rice releases easily with a little water or oil.Great tool for onigiri, sushi rice snacks, or meal prep. Simple, efficient, and beginner friendly.
