Great water filters for my coffee machine at a very good price. They work.
I don't religiously make espresso everyday. I maybe make it 5 times a month. However, these work great as an alternative to pricy OEM filters.Prepping them for use is the same as Breville's filters. As far as I can tell, its performance is just as good, and the quality of the coffee made with it is equivalent in taste. I have a formula I've written down to make consistent espresso, and I didn't notice any change with these.
The BEENAUI 4 Pack Replacement Water Filters seem to work just as well as the OEM version, but at less than half the price. They fit perfectly, and seem to do the same job of filtering the water. Great buy!
These Breville espresso machine water filters are a very solid alternative to the OEM versions. The waterflow is similar, maybe just a little less than the originals, but still fully adequate for making great espresso. There is no leakage at all, and the coffee tastes excellent, which is the most important part. The filters fit my Barista Touch perfectly, and installation is very easy once you know the simple prep step. The overall quality and functionality feel dependable, and the value is excellent compared to the cost of branded filters. One important note is that these filters need to be pre-soaked upside down before installation. This removes the air pocket inside. Skipping this step could cause your machine to run without proper water flow, which something you definitely want to avoid risking with a $1k+ machine. Once that is done they pop right in and work exactly as expected.Overall these are a great budget friendly replacement that install easily and perform well while keeping the espresso tasting just right.
Getting right to the point: I got pressure retention issues with these filters and I'm not going to leave anything to chance with my $1500 espresso machine to safe a few bucks on off-brand filters. I'm passing on these regardless of other issues.I cut one open to see if it had the water-softening resins and charcoal like the Breville-branded filters do and, to this product's credit, it does. However, I noticed that 1) the resin beads where noticeably larger (less surface area than Breville) and 2) there seemed to be a bit less. I weight a dry, unused example of each and that was confirmed, there is less filter material in the Beenaui.Functionally, they fit right in and installed easily. I didn't observe any leakage. I will say that I started having pressure issues with my Breville Dual Boiler with these installed. I can't say for certain that these were the cause at the time - it could have been user error - but I immediately swapped in a Breville filter (among other changes) and the issues stopped. Take that for what you will but I'm not going to take changes with a $1500 machine to save a few bucks on filters. If you are more risk tolerant with your machine and willing to compromise a bit on the amount of filtering material, these are a good value. They're much cheaper than Breville's filters. I don't think the savings is worth risking the machine though.
Compatibility - Fit my Oracle touch perfectly! Left no strange taste, the water is flow is fine, not choking the machine or anything. Without testing the water sample itself, I cannot speak to the filter quality, and our local water has no discernible taste, so I am unclear on that. However, my coffee tastes no different than when I was using the branded filters that come with the machine.
While these are not the official brand, they are a perfect fit for my Breville machine. I would recommend.
