Love them beats grabbing hot cast iron handles
They are not thick at all, and since they are not real leather they melt if left on the handle even when they are not in contact with the flame, also they get hot pretty fast so you start burning your hands if you are holding your skillet for longer than a minute. The clasps for the longer handles came off at the second try of opening it. The price for the number of pieces should have warned me that it was too good to be true. Go for something different. I did and I really noticed the difference.
I just happened to have 3 cast iron pans needing handle covers. These are super thin leather, no lining or very good structure but with that being said, I haven’t felt much heat through them when moving the pans. I like how the cover wraps around the handle for a snug fit. It’s a little long for my short handle but not a big deal. The short cover doesnt stay on too well but if I keep it close, I can use go moving the pan around.
Bought these for my boyfriend who loves to cook with all cast iron and he says they grip the handles much better than his old cloth handles. The heat resistance is great and has no problem slipping them on to grab a pan from oven. Nice thick leather. Thanks!
They are NOT leather. I haven't had mine melt, but it did char a bit. Do they work? Yes, but they are thin and you don't leave them on for very long. I slip mine over the handle just before moving the pot. If you leave them on the heat will go through. Had them for a year and just a bit of charing.(when I forgot and left it on a CI frypan on the hot burner) So I got what I paid for. You might want to consider one of the real leather versions.
These are too big for Lodge brand ironware. Fit perfectly on some other brands. The secondary cover doesn't stay on at all, not even in storage, so it doesn't even get to look cool. Might as well use a kitchen towel if you have to pick it up off of the stove every time you want to touch the handle.
these are perfect and can leave on with no issues on electric stove not sure about gas or campfire but they are easy to put on and off so should work bought 3 sets for family members no complaints
