These are nice. Good size, solid weight; comfortable in the hand. The serrated edge was perfect for cutting rolls in half. The little holes grate a solid butter stick into little threads that soon soften on the roll or bread. The large hole at the tip pulls a larger ribbon from tub butter. Also works with soft cheese.And it is at a great price. I am keeping two, and using the rest as stocking stuffers this Christmas.
It works well and definitly is a different idea.
The work but take time to learn. Will need to take more time to experiment and refine my skill. They are nice and shiny, though.
A good spreader knife is hard to find at a reasonable price. These are great for butter jams and jelly. They slso have a serrated edge for cutting rolls or toast. So when I came across a set of spreader knives; I just had to buy.
These are so-so, but a regular butter knife works just as well.
Looked like a great idea. Might be OK if you're getting some butter for your veg's. Using it for toast, the butter curls do not spread evenly, tend to cling to knife. If you use the tip to try to spread, there is a hole there. I'll be giving the rest of them as gifts, like stocking-stuffers. I'll probably donate mine.
I saw these knives when they first came out years ago and sold for an outrageous amount. I felt they were priced too high so I passed them by. When I saw these at a reasonable price, I went for them and I'm happy with my purchase! We are a breakfast family so we use these knives daily. I like the paddle tip and of course, the holes to scoop the cold butter. The serrated edge is handy too. Others have stated that the knife is too large, but we haven't found its size to be an issue. I'm very happy with the design and the price. I purchased two sets so I have enough when company comes over since I make homemade bread frequently.
