These freeze quickly, come out easy and are large enough for an ice bath as long as your tap water doesn't come out warm to begin with. They aren't too big to keep in the freezer long term and work great in coolers too. They are heavy and very sturdy so they don't slosh too much.
Nice and thick so when filled with water and transporting to the freezer they don’t collapse.
Works ok , bottom bulges when water freezes,, but makes a nice piece of ice that is easy to remove,A lid would be nice, difficult to carry a full container of water to the freezer without some spillage.
I got this to make ice blocks to use in my cooler for summer parties and it does not disappoint. I fill it up and set it in my chest freezer overnight, and have a nice solid ice block in the morning. I like to make a few blocks and leave them in the freezer so that when it is time to load up the cooler i can throw two or tree in and go without having to stop to buy bags of ice. Added bonus, the blocks seem to last much longer than a bag, because of the reduced surface area compared to a sack of ice cubes.
Got so I can make my own ice bocks for the 5 gallon drink cooler. Huge block, 5”x5”x8” roughly. Takes a long time to melt. Does require letting the ice thaw a couple of minutes to remove. This is solid, closer to tire tread than to the lightweight silicone most ice trays are made of.
Blocks release easily. Shape is a bit odd so they don't stack well so minus one star
This has been awesome for making huge ice blocks to take camping. They last so much longer in the cooler and thus makes them so much easier to freeze and pack being a consistent shape.
