They worked great much better than food saver bags
These rolls are longer and stronger than any others I've used. I thought my vacuum sealer was going bad when I couldn't get a good seal. It was those thin bags!
Quick shipping on a good product.
They work great, great price
These are sturdy strong material rolls. The thickness seems good. However, I have not tested other brands. Was reviewed as top commercial quality partly based on thickness of material. I have not had one break even with bones. The Nesco VS-12 has double sealing, which we always use. I have had a couple failures to vacuum seal and I don't know why.1) The main issue with the product is that there are wrinkles in the roll, which makes sealing much more difficult. With the double sealing ability, this has not seemed to cause a problem yet. But I don't know for sure. 2) The other issue is that the tape used to hold the roll together leaves a sticky area on the roll and when I've attempt to seal the beginning of the roll, I have had the vacuum sealer gasket get pulled out by the tape residue. We normally use the 8" rolls for 1 or 2 meats mainly for Sous Vide. Usually we add spices before sealing. We use the 11" roll to seal the meat while still in the store packaging (we poke holes in the top of plastic package and then put into the bag, seal and freeze. This reduces the meat juices coming out while sealing. We have purchased more.
I love to vacuum seal food - especially for freezing, but always dreaded buying the rolls at the store, since they were expensive, compared to ziplock bags. But, after enjoying a 7-year-old steak that had been vacuum-sealed and frozen (then lost in the freezer), I was sold...it's an important way to save food - not only dehydrated, but just refrigerated foods, and freeze meal portions. I began to have problems with the inexpensive ZipLock rolls - often not sealing, so they evidently had a tiny leak somewhere. This is a nice weight, and seem to vacuum seal and maintain the seal quite well. AND - at this price, they are much more affordable than the 'store bought' rolls. Very definitely on my list to buy again - and again!
Heavy duty and works great in my vacuum packer
