Very nice. Soft and flexible. Great for spreading butter on corn on the cob. I also use them to oil my griddle and pans. I like being able to wash in the dishwasher. I used to use a natural bristle brush but I wasted oil because it absorbed so much and I had to wash by hand. These are very handy.
These particular baking brushes are fantastic. You can use them for spreading your oil on your frying pan or baking pans to evenly coat them or spread sauces on whatever you are cooking. They wash well in the dishwasher in the utensil rack. They hold up to high heat. I don't think they will ever wear out. They are one piece also. love them.
I really loved the fact that you get three brushes instead of one for a great price! I use to have those brushes with wooden handles, and when you use them, the little bristles would fall out and stick to your food. That sucked. That's what I liked the most about these brushes — you don't have to worry about that. Also, I love that these were so easy to clean; why, the silicone allows you to, basically, run the water over them, and that essentially cleans it alone. They're also so easy to use, as they enable you to distribute the sauce into places that are itherw8de hard to reach. They also are easy to store because they're so small and compact that they don't take up much toom in your drawers. Or they have holes where you can hang them if you choose to. Lastly, I like the bright, cheery colors. That may not mean much to some, but I'm a happy, cheerful person, and I kind of like for my utensils to match my mood. Haha. It's tough to gauge how small these are until you see them and get a sense of the handle length relative to the brush. They are fine, but sized up a few inches would make them more useful. That said, the price was more than right, and they are fully encased in silicone for easy cleanup.
I mostly use these to brush olive oil onto bread when I make panini, or onto phyllo dough when I make spanakopita. They work very well for these purposes. I have also used them to brush thicker barbecue sauce onto chicken, and that had a great outcome, too. I think these are better than other brushes I've used because the silicon bristles do not fall out the way natural bristles did. They're incredibly easy to clean, too, with just a drop of good anti-grease dishwashing liquid (the kind they use on baby ducks during oil spills; wasn't sure if it was ok to name brands in this review). I think they would be fine in a dishwasher on the top rack, but I don't currently have a dishwasher, so I don't know that for certain. But hey, if you melt one of them in your dishwasher, at least you have two backup brushes. The bright colors are nice, too, because they're easy to spot in my utensil drawer even though they're small.
I bought these in December 2019 for use with a waffle maker I bought. I knew I needed a basting brush for times I wanted to apply oil to the waffle grates. Nearly two months later and having been used in waffle maker, washed in dishwasher, washed by hand, used to baste other foods.. and they still perform fine and look great. I added pictures from today (Feb 2020).I picked up the 3 pack because.. why not?! My set is exactly as described. I received 3 basting brushes, 1 each of green, yellow, and blue.They measure exactly 8.25 inches long.The brush "hairs" are 1.25" long,Brush width is 1.25"A hole at tip of handle for hanging or securing together on a ring.The brush hairs are soft and pretty flexible. If you need a more stout brush hair, you will want to look elsewhere.Oddly, if you want this as a means to massage your face or for other tactile work, these are lovely.
