My new favorite short order pan

This thing landed on my doorstep and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I gave it a quick wash and we were off! I almost exclusively use granite/ceramic cookware these days, so I know they should be hand washed and used with silicone or wooden utensils. I mention this because the total lack of care instructions was disappointing. Zero literature of any kind, only the usage icons on the top of the box. I would strongly recommend the manufacturer put SOMETHING in the box with information about the product, its usage, and care. These surfaces are phenomenal, but the wrong utensils, care, or temperature can cause damage. I feel so strongly about the importance of instructions and product information that I had to deduct a star.Otherwise, this little pan is a dream. It comes in adequate packaging and presents well out of the box. The first thing I noticed was the sides are slightly straighter than my other skillets, which I saw as an immediate positive. It’s different enough to be better for certain uses. It has a really nice weight to it, especially for a small skillet. It’s irritating when a small skillet tips toward its handle because the handle is heavier than the pan. No such problem here. The pan is nicely balanced with a long enough handle. The handle feels like rubberwood, with no exposed attachment hardware, either inside the skillet, or anywhere you come in contact with the handle. Everything has a nice, sleek look and solid feel.Stunning goods looks aren’t even the best thing about this little gem. I couldn’t decide what to toss in for testing, so started with buttered bread for grilled cheese. There’s plenty of room for French or artisan bread slices, but I think regular sandwich bread might be crowded with two slices. Once the butter cooked away and the skillet was dry, I decided to crack an egg in and see what happened. This is where the little skillet really showed off. I really should have taken a video of how the egg swirled around the pan, without even breaking the yolk. The best I could do was a photo of a blurry egg in motion. The last photo is what the pan looked like after buttery bread, gooey cheese, and an over-easy egg were slipped out onto a plate. You’d never know it had been used.The 8.5 inch size is great for something quick for one or two people. I might have to buy a second for my motor home. Finally, the green is stunning in my green kitchen. I might leave it hanging out on a peg to be decorative as well as functional. It’s just a shame this wonderful little skillet didn’t include care and use instructions in the box to give it the best chance in life. Otherwise it would be 5+ stars.

Good pan, handle potentially an issue

Overall, this is a pretty good pan. The main benefits are that it's lightweight while maintaining the fairly thick induction-compatible base. Even on a standard gas stove, the induction base provides more even heating. It also has higher walls than most pans of this size, preventing stuff from splashing out.The pan doesn't come with a lid, but I've found that it is compatible with glass lids from pretty much any standard-size 6qt pressure cooker. I've been using it with an Instant Pot lid.The main flaw I've found is that the handle seems to get burnt because of how close it is to the fire. Having a high flame for a long enough time may slowly melt it.One other issue is that while the pan came in a sealed box and double-boxed by Amazon for shipping, it still had a small dent in it. That would mean the dent is from the factory, and they decided to simply sell it as is.Between the potential handle flaw, and the lack of overall quality control from the manufacturer, I feel that the approximately $26 price at the time of my order is on the high side for a 8.5" pan that doesn't even include a lid. That being said, at a better price point, it's not a bad pan by any means.

Nonstick, induction friendly, and looks great

LIKES: nonstick, very easy to clean even after making eggs, induction cooking, looks great. DISLIKES: none to report. HOW USING: I have this in my science classroom so that I can cook on my induction plate and my hot plate. This works great on a variety of cook surfaces. RECOMMENDATION: Yes! I love making my own lunches and making food items for my students. However, without a stove in my classroom it can be difficult so an induction plate heats up quickly and is easy to clean. This pan is perfect for making quick hot lunches and simple food based treats and demos in my classroom. It is so easy to clean due to the nonstick nature of its coating.
