If you find this review linked to a different product, please disregard the review and check other reviews carefully.This spoon rest is very attractive, and the wood tones match perfectly with my other acacia wood kitchen equipment. It's very light, just slightly heftier than balsa wood, but the surface is smooth and it feels like it's been made with care. It is water resistant, I just wouldn't leave liquids to soak into it for a long period of time because any finish on it is minimal.The problem is that the notches where the spoon handle is supposed to go are parallel with the countertop. So when I try to lay a long stirring or serving spoon on this rest, with the spoon part where the spoon part goes and the end of the handle resting on the countertop, the bottom of the notch gets in the way. If only the notch went all or nearly all the way down to the countertop, then utensils could lay flat on it. As it is though, either the end of the spoon handle is on the counter forcing the spoon part to be raised up off the spoon rest, or the spoon part is laying on the spoon rest and the and of the handle is forced up off the counter. It's usually that first thing, and that causes the spoon to be unstable and prone to having any liquid that's on the spoon drain back toward the handle.The spoon rest is still very usable, it just takes some finagling to position the spoon in a stable way every time I use the spoon and then put it back onto the holder.

Well I do have to say it's a nice looking piece but it's very large for what it does and isn't very ergonomically designed. They should have made the resting part more of a bowl than a plate and left room for the handle part to fit so it lies on the counter better. It wasn't fully thought through. but, if you just need a decent thing to sit next to your stove that you can wash occasionally instead of the counter, this would work.

You'll need anti slip pads for underneath or it will slip around
This is a nice spoon rest aesthetically, especially if you have a lot of wood in your kitchen like cutting board and wood utensils, it matches well. It's a decent value for the money, and the build quality is good. The thickness is about 3/4 inches high for reference. The wood surface is well refined and polished. The slip resistance is the only issue I have with it, and I had to put textured rubber slip pads underneath it because the bottom is just flat and without adding the pads underneath this thing will slip all over the countertop or stovetop with a slight bump. Other than that I think it's a great spoon rest.
