I love this pitcher! It is perfect for making my sun tea. I really like the silicone ring for the bottom. It's great for not damaging the pitcher and making it slip proof! I still gave it 5 stars but my one tiny complaint, which is probably just my own trust issues, is that the handle is awful thin...it's done great but it sure feels like under the weight of a full pitcher it would just snap! But so far so good!
I started looking at glass pitchers to replace plastic ones. The plastic pitchers we had were gallon size. It seems almost impossible to find that size in glass that will fit in our side by side refrigerator. I found this one and, even though it is not gallon size, it still holds about 102 ounces which works for us and it fits the area in the fridge well. It came packed very securely and undamaged. I feel a bit unsure about the strength of the glass handle so we make sure we support it from the bottom when transporting it and pouring. Otherwise, this is a great pitcher.....just about perfect.
I happily give this pitcher 5 stars but there is a catch. In earlier reviews someone mentioned setting the pitcher down without the silicone collar on the bottom and it broke. I made that mistake today and, setting it down at just the right angle, it popped. I can't say I wasn't warned and am ordering another now. Just always make sure you have that protective collar on it. It's there for a reason!
Some of the reviews indicated that this pitcher was sturdy. It was absolutely not. The dang thing shattered almost immediately. I was giving it a quick wash after unboxing it, and it tapped the inside of my sink while I was rinsing it off. That was all it took to destroy it. $30 down the drain. (I was not able to return it within the return period, as a strong storm damaged my house and car a couple days after I got the pitcher, so I spent all my spare time over the next month dealing with the aftermath of the storm.)By the way, I ended up buying some actual heavy duty glass jugs that look like milk bottles ("1/2 Gal Heavy Duty Glass Milk Bottle with Strong REUSABLE AIRTIGHT SCREW Lid"). Those jugs are great, and actually made well.
I drink a LOT of iced tea and use this pitcher. I'd been looking for a new glass container only and found this instead.Once I realized I didn't need 2 things for one purpose I was sold. Brewing and storing all in one! Ifill it with water and tea bags, let it brew and cool for at least 2 hours before putting in the fridge. The silicone protector stays on and works well. I don't have small children so it may not be ideal if you do. It's easy to clean but if you use it for tea you will need more than the soft scrub brush it comes with. My old container was plastic and keeping stains off it was a nightmare. Plus plastic isn't good for us. Glass is so easy to clean comparatively. I've had mine for about 2 months and I'm never going back. The price is very reasonable.
Very Fragile. It broke with in weeks.
I gave it a 4 star review as I am not too convinced that the handle is glass... it looks and feels like a thick plastic and also has a few scratch marks on it !! The Pitcher it self seems to be a thin glass comes with a removable easy to put on silicone base and a cleaner. The lid seems to be be a thin metal reminds of a mason Jar lid typeVery light weight. Over all I like it works what I need it for just the handle doesnt seem like glass 🤷🏽♀️
