Healthier sea salts tend to be very course, and won't go through the traditional salt shakers, so another standard salt container is required. This product fits that bill, provides a covered container that is easily opened, and also provides the little spoon to enable very easy application of small amounts of salt at the dinner table. The round wooden container is an attractive addition to the table, and will encourage good conversation about the topic of healthy salt. I have one for the table and one for my prep area, so I can easily add good salt to my recipes.

As good as it looks, but there might be better out there
The product looks like the pictures (i.e., it is a nice looking item). The lid also works as the other reviews note (it is sort of satisfying to close the lid). There are two aspects to the box that are less than great though: (1) the inside of the box is rough and could do with some sanding; (2) the bottom of the box on the outside is just wood and could have some sort of material that makes it not slip on countertops.

So this is real Acacia Wood
I bought this for my Sea Salt and it is so Beautiful. The Salt is the Best so it deserves a Special container. I have heard many times through the pages of the Bible the many uses of Acacia Wood and figured it must have been a really Beautiful Wood and it certainly is. To see it in person and to have it for the Best Flaky Sea Salt is an incredible experience for me. Just like when I saw my first Alabaster Jewelry Box. I knew all about it, but never got to see it and that was used for the Kings Wine Jar. So many things that you imagine but when actually seen in person, you're really in awe. This container can be used for many things, even a jewelry box or to hold special hair accessories. It was not expensive at all. Maybe it was because it had no spoon and was located near the Special Salts, but to me it was perfect and I have plenty of spoons. The wood was so worth it for the special salt. I highly recommend this container for whatever you would like and it could easily be giftable. So happy I got mine. It also has a magnet cover so you can turn it to get into. and out of. Nice so it doesn't spill your salt.
