Great bread pans for a toaster oven!
I bake banana bread as a "thank you" for the volunteers of our local food bank on a regular basis. Food Bank always has perfect older bananas that always need a happy stomach home. These pans work great since they are smaller (fit in a normal size toaster oven), non-stick/easy to clean, inexpensive (far cheaper than using disposable foil), good size either as single loaf or a pair of loaves for a larger group and better as snack size rather than a full slice of bread. Planet benefit: toaster oven uses far less energy than a traditional oven.Couple tricks for baking in a toaster oven:1. Set the temp 50 degrees less than per the recipe; bake the same time or slightly longer.2. Place a solid pan under (lower in the oven) to shield the bottom of the loaf pan from the heating elements. Avoids burning the bottom of the loaf.3. I still oil/flour the pan to add a bit more moisture to the loaf. Makes cleaning essentially a water rinse.Nothing better than the smell of fresh banana bread in a home! Bake often, butter at the ready.
