Works like a strainer should.

The coil is indeed dense, to the point where I think it's basically permanently connected to the strainer body, because you can't compress the coil enough to easily remove it. The metal is a little thinner than my "fancy" strainer, but then again at around $10 for this one, it also cost about a third of the price of my other one, so I can deal with that. Plus for this price range, I'm not expecting a heavy-duty "luxury" strainer. And it's not flimsy-thin.. It does the job.The gold color does seem to show off fingerprint smudges, but maybe that's good since it reminds you that you should have clean hands and tools before you start making and serving beverages to your friends. It fits the best in the small half of my boston shaker, and fits on my mixing glass as well. It technically fits on the large half of my shaker, as long as you have it positioned in a way that makes all 4 prongs touch the sides. If it gets shifted up too much, then the smaller ones don't make contact.I do also like that most of the unit is basically flat, so it sits more or less flush across the top of the container.A quick price comparison shows that for pronged strainers liked this, the going price of around $10 was reasonable; there were some cheaper ones the coil density was way lower, which is the characteristic that stands out the most about this one.I had the privilege of ordering this item for review, so cost is not factored in to my rating (although I think it is a decent price). Since it met my expectations
