What a nice caddy to hold our pour over carafe AND the filters. I love the wood and the silicone trivet under the carafe.
It looks great.
A very pretty and well crafted unit with a 1.5 inch hole in the back for a power cord to fit through if needed. The size is good for any medium to small sized coffee pot or could be used for other heated things that could fit in there. The removable silicon insert has a pretty honeycomb pattern. Silicon can tolerate very high heat so this insert essentially acts as both a heat blocking trivet and a coaster style liquid catcher to help protect the wood underneath. While at the same time the rubbery texture of it has a little grab to help keep anything on top from sliding easily. The side walls of the wood will also help protect against inadvertent knocks to the coffee set up. You could realistically just use this to hold a big cup of coffee. They have a slot to the side for coffee filters but I'll be using mine for storing some easy to grab napkins instead. The listing description seems accurate in most ways but the photo with measurements has one measurement that is either confusing or just wrong. The silicon pad area for the pot is actually sized at 6.5 by 6.5 inch square, not 2.76 inches like the listing says. Oops! The wood construction on this is in my opinion excellent. All the joints are tight with even some tongue in groove joints in a few places. Even under the silicon trivet and on the bottom are nicely polished and finished. I am not an acacia wood expert but this wood has a silky color changing sheen such that it tends to look lighter colored when viewed head on and then looks darker when viewed from the side. So each piece will look different as your eye perspective shifts around. This creates considerable artistic interest and an upscaled appearance to the piece. Four sturdy rubber feet hold the unit flat and even on a flat table and help prevent sliding. This could make a great gift for the person that has everything. Considering the quality of workmanship of the wood and visual appeal, I feel that the current price of $30 is very good value for the price.
Acacia Coffee Bar Station Organizer StandThis is my newest addition in my room, yes, I took this out of the kitchen and utilizing it in my room and office space.I am happy to have this but will likely replace at some point but works well enough for now.First for me, this small size is quite small, really pay attention to the dimensions. This premium acacia wood is beautiful. The whole piece has thin but solid wood walls and base.Has mostly smooth perfectly straight edges that are barely rounded. The finish is much to be desired, as it is not very smooth and actually rough in a couple areas. The built-in cable management hole at the back is large so it does leave the power cord out of the way, hidden nicely. The heatproof mat (9.4*7*5.1 inch) is fantastic that they added this because I would not have thought of it. Because they provided it, its a quick fit, but does not fit perfectly straight but good enough. Keeping minor over spill from ruining this solid quality wood piece is needed. The beehive structured grip is great, works at keeping my glass coffee carafe, coffee cup or my food warmer from slipping around. As well as the 4 non-slip foot pads under this from also keeping it from sliding too much and causing a possible mess or disastrous accident. But these foot pads are not very rubber like, I think they are hard shiny rubber. That along with their size, does not makes it completely slip proof. This whole piece can and does a slow slide, if just enough gentle constant push is exerted. This is nicely put together and the extra slot is good, small but good.Overall, I am pleased to have this keeping hot things set cleanly and more safely in my office environment. If the bottom foot pads were wider and more rubber like. The finish truly smooth, this would be a definite 5 star.
Several of us in our family have converted to making pour over coffee as we have found the flavor of the coffee to be full bodied and rich in flavor without any bitterness. We can even taste the notes of many of the different varieties that we have on hand, which we haven't been able to experience just using my Dual Brew coffee maker.I have been working on creating a coffee station with kettle, coffee timer/scale, carafe, filters, bean jar, grinder and carafe warmer. When I was given an opportunity to review this Acacia wood pour over caddy, I thought it might work in my space so ordered it. Upon opening, I was impressed by its smooth edges and the beauty of the different sections of wood. It is crafted of various shades and patterns of acacia wood, similar to a quilt, which adds to its character and beauty, at least in my book. The caddy comes with a rubber honeycomb patterned coaster to contain any drips or loose coffee and has a round hole for charging cables or an electrical plug. I use it to plug in my carafe warmer which I station under the carafe once the pour over is complete as I make a 4 cup portion every morning.I am presently out of #2 filters so have napkins in the slot, but I do prefer to use a filter when I have them on hand in my stainless steel pour over filter for easier cleanup. If you are enjoying pour over coffee or have a friend or family member who is getting into the process, this is a great gift option, perhaps paired with a coffee timer/scale, gooseneck kettle and some great coffee beans.
