So pretty!
Ok I didn't have high hopes for this but my expectations have been surpassed. This is a genuinely beautiful cake dish. But we don't use it for a cake dish. We don't bake, except to take the pre-formed cookie dough out of the package and slap it on a baking sheet and stick it in the oven for precisely 12 minutes. Those get eaten the same day.Instead, we use this for a fruit bowl. Though it is currently holding a half eaten package of tortillas and three peaches. But it holds it beautifully! There is no wobbling at all.I am not sure I would spend $40 on it but I am cheap. If I had an extra $40 with no bills and I saw this cake dish, I would be tempted. :)

Lightweight pie or cake stand and charcuterie board combo is brilliant!
This is a very useful little cake/pie stand that can also double as a charcuterie board! I enjoy baking but have pets and typically have to hide my creations in the microwave to keep them safe from our naughty pets. The problem with keeping things in the microwave is that I have terrible memory and if it’s out of sight I’ve forgotten about it! I love this cake stands it keeps my food safe and dust/bug/rodent free, but lets me see it so I don’t forget about my hard made creation! It looks great and I really love the wood finish, which compliments my kitchen aesthetic perfectly. I did knock off one star as when you pull the acrylic lid off the entire stand can wobble if you aren’t careful. I wish it had been built to have a weight in the base, I consider the sturdiness slightly lacking and I only open it when I have a second hand grasping the base. I do not want my cakes tipping over! Overall though it is excellent and I appreciate that it can be also used as a charcuterie board, it helps me to justify what otherwise would be a single use item. I do recommend it!

Poorly made, cheap materials, not very attractive.
Not wild about this cake stand, at all! The way the wood in constructed, it looks messy to me, not pleasing as most pieced wood items are made. You are supposed to be able to use this as a cake stand and then flip over and use it as a dip tray. But I noticed immediately that the "cup" or "stand" post seemed cockeyed. And everything was wobbling. I realized the stand was screwed into a bolt which was embedded into the "plate" part of this item. I screwed it down but it was still wobbling. I did not want to force it any longer as the torque would have broken the bolt out of the wood. So I got a level to see if it was my eyes or truly off-kilter. I checked the level of the counter, then the cake stand and it was definitely off. Then there is the cover. It looks OK until you look at how the knob on top is connected. It looks like it was melted to the dome with heat or some chemical reaction. All in all, I will use this, but I do not like it and will look for a nicer one for when I have company. It will "work", a cake is not going to slide off, but poorly made, cheap materials used, not very attractive. I do not recommend.

Okay but finish is lacking.
It is attractive, no doubt. With the acrylic cover, it is light which is a plus for such items. I am concerned about the build and finish. For a wood product the finish is slightly rougher than normal (and rougher than I would make myself.) Also, when I make a wood product for food use I make sure the food-grade oil finish is substantive. I couldn't sense a good finish on this product. This matters since when it is cleaned it may not become completely clean as open pores will absorb grease and odor. That is especially concerning to me when using it as a dip tray. The cake stand also doubles as a dip holder. It was screwed on and not very tightly. I am concerned that over time this will weaken and make the entire cake stand wobbly and useless.I would not purchase this again. I would look for a more substantive product with a better finish.

Nice way to showcase your baking
I got this cake stand for my 26-yr old son in the ASD spectrum who's a fantastic baker. He's extremely happy because until now his only choices were to either buy disposable cake boxes, which won't let you show much of the cake until it's out of the box, or a plastic carrier, with a dome that is not very transparent. It obviously does its basic job, you can showcase the cake while protecting it. The neat part is that you can flip it and use it as a tray for snacks. The dome is made from a high impact acrylic, not very worried about breaking it. The pedestal is Acacia and looks really nice, the finish is pretty good. Both parts are very light.I don't see any downsides except that there is now way to latch the dome to the pedestal.

Beauty but no brains
I wanted to love this cake stand because how neat is the versatility aspect?! But, when it arrived I felt very underwhelmed. I knew the lid was acrylic, as the description says, but it feels very cheap and thin, like, your fingernails could damage it when reaching to lift the lid. The lid fits the cake plate side because it has a border groove in it to somewhat secure the lid. However, the serving tray side (in photo) has no way to secure the lid. Therefore it slides all around because it’s plastic and super lightweight, which is a bummer. As far as aesthetic, from a distance it is cute and gives rustic farmhouse vibes, but up close it screams cheap. Functionality, is okay, but I certainly wouldn’t put this out at a party with guests unless they were children who were none the wiser.

Great for keeping baked goods on your counter, versatile and pretty!
I love the design of this stand, especially the versatility of ways it can be used. If you enjoy plating food or setting out a pretty spread - this is an ideal addition to your kitchenware! I have to admit I was disappointed that the dome wasn’t glass, however the acrylic is functional, keeps the price point down, and I am much less afraid of breaking it.Pros:• Pretty - this looks great on our kitchen island.• Functional - we use this all the time for any pastries, or leftovers that we want to leave out on the counter to snack on, but we don’t want to leave open to the air.• Secure lid fit - love the groove that the lid fits into - great for keeping any pests out if dining outside.Cons:• Light weight - wish the dome had a bit more heft to it.• Not as study as I might like.
