High quality Acacia Wood & brushed metal 80s throwback design!
When I first saw the tray wrapped in plastic, I kind of shrieked. I don't know why, but the plastic wrapping gives the wood an odd and cheap look. But, take that plastic off and I found it was a really nice serving tray. The tray is made from ½" Acacia Wood that's got beautiful natural red tones, like cedar but without the smell, and softly curved corners that have all been assembled with tongue and groove instead of a simple brad nail, so it's going to endure a lot of use and handling and be around a long time. The brushed gold metal handles are under inset and flush with the wood edge that gives it a tastefully expensive feel. So, here you have this beautiful Acacia Wood and brushed metal handles only to look at the sides with utter confusion as what you'd think would be rattan or even an insert metal punched panel is fact cheap yellowy cream plastic punched panel. It's so confusing and bewildering and reminded me of the cheap plastic Easter baskets from the 80s, and maybe that's the aesthetic they were going for, as this plastic paneling was also common inset into the woodwork on like buffets, music player and drink cabinets, and bedroom furniture.I was an 80s child and I know first-hand that the plastic doesn't hold up long and despite the high quality materials used in this serving tray, the plastic paneling is not appealing. So why am I still giving this serving tray 4 stars? Because overall, I really like the look of this tray. It's large, low profile, and ½" thick construction compared to the typically used ⅛" or ¼" Birch board and jointed assembly gives me confidence that even under load with heavy items, the bottom isn't going to give out. And as I'm crafty, I eventually might either remove the wood slat that tops the plastic panels and replace with decorative metal panels or an ⅛" wood panel or tape off the wood and paint the plastic to look like faux ratton!

Looks Nice in Photos, Feels Cheap in Person
I really wanted to love this tray, but right out of the box it was disappointing. The middle section is actually plastic, which makes the whole tray feel much cheaper than expected. Once I removed the wrapping and picked it up, it just didn’t feel very sturdy or well-made.Visually, it’s fine for styling on a shelf or table, but I don’t see this being very practical for actually carrying or serving things—especially at this price point. It feels more decorative than functional, and even then, the materials don’t really match the cost. For what it is, it might work as a light decor piece, but if you’re looking for something solid and durable, this probably isn’t it. The quality just isn’t there for me.

Not worth the price
This tray looks pretty at first glance, but it’s disappointing once you look closer. The listing calls it an “Acacia Wood Serving Tray with Handles,” but in person it does not feel like a solid wood tray - the sides and bottom feel like plastic to me. Based on the product images, the only part specifically labeled “Acacia Wood” appears to be the rounded corners, which made me question what the rest of the tray is actually made from. Also, the inlaid border looks much more yellow in real life than it appears online. Instead of an off-white accent, and looks right out of the ‘70s (not in a good way).On the plus side, it is sturdy. The handles are comfortable, and it carried a stack of dishes and a few glasses without any issues.Still, for the price, I think there are better looking serving trays made with nicer materials. I would not get this again.

Functional but the quality could be better.
I'm recovering from an injury so I'm in the recliner most of the day. I thought a tray would be useful for snacks and meals. The size is perfect and I like the handles but the bottom feels like an inexpensive piece of wood. Sadly the "ratan" on the sides are kind of an ugly plastic material so I was a little disappointed about that. In saying that it is versatile and functional and can be used to display or store anything or carry food and drinks to the bed or couch so for now it's doing what I need it to do. I'm not sure what will happen to the tray if wet or hot cups are put on it for any length of time because I don't think this is actually solid wood so it might warp but I haven't had it long enough to prove that yet. I do like the rounded corners and they actually do look like real wood to me. I'm using a silicone trivet on it with my dishes so they don't slide around on the tray. For what you get I think it's a little expensive but it serves the purpose.
