Works pretty good. I finally have sharp knives.
This is a kitchen must have. Excellent for putting the edge back on your favorite knife.
I was little disappointed how only the rough sharpener is adjustable while the fine ceramic is not. I'm able to work around it and make a slight angle adjustment in my hands to get the final sharpening. Not something I would use for high end knives because I need something more precise. I will say it made a pair of scissors the sharpest I can recall them ever being. For me its good simple sharpener for kitchen knives and scissors that are starting to dull.
I've been using a Smith's Adjustable knife sharpener (Gray/Yellow S-50264) for about five years now. It has been my go-to sharpener to keep my EDC, hunting, and even kitchen knives sharp. I like to keep my knives sharp and tend to use a sharpener at least a couple of times a week on knives that I use daily.I picked up this YEOPASDA sharpener for roughly one third of the price of the Smith's. Each has it's pluses and minuses.Smith's pluses: 6 angle selections vs. 5 for the Yeopasda. The Smith's adjustments change both the coarse and fine honing blade angles. The Yeopasda adjustments only change the coarse sharpening angle. It looks like the fine angle is fixed at what looks like 20 degrees - not ideal for some of your finer chef / kitchen knives, but should be fine for EDC pocketknives and smaller hunting knives. The Smith's has a fixed serrated section (not used much).Yeopasda pluses: This has a very useful fixed angle scissors section to touch up the dulled scissors around the house. Even though it is fixed-angle, it seems to match up very well with the scissors around the house.Another big plus for the Yeopasda is that the openings on the sides under the sharpening sections are much deeper, so you are much less likely to drag your knife blade on the plastic case of the sharpener as you are working the blade. Each sharpener has a general guide printed on the side to help guide you to pick the correct sharpening angle. For your more expensive knives, you can usually Google the correct blade angle. Sharpening at the correct angle will make or break the results of your work.Who's the winner? It would depend on your main use. Since (right now) you can buy three of the Yeopasda sharpeners for the price of one Smith's and it has the advantage of the scissors sharpener, I would probably buy it. That said, I do like the flexibility of the smaller angles available for chef / kitchen knives and small Swiss Army pen knives that the Smith's offers. Also, the fact that the Smith's adjustments work for coarse and fine sharpening is important. Overall, if I could only keep one, I think that I would keep the Yeopasda.
So far it’s worked great!
I think it works. I don’t know if it puts a new edge on things it’s difficult to tell as i sharpen everything after use. I bought this mainly because it has a scissors option. Kitchen scissors get a real workout in today’s kitchen with everything being securely wrapped in some kind of plastic.
