Well made, quality grill pan
I've had other non-stick stovetop griddles in the past and didn't like them as they were either too thin, and burned food easily, or were cast iron, which was difficult to clean and too heavy to use, especially when full of food. As a result, I got rid of all of them pretty quickly. This All-Clad pan is well made, not too heavy, but also not thin and lightweight. It fits perfectly across two burners on my stovetop, and is easy to use and clean. All it takes to clean it is a little soap and a sponge as nothing sticks to it. The non-stick coating is nicer than the others I've had in the past, all of which wore off quickly. This is a thick coating, so I don't think it'll wear off anytime soon. I also like that I don't need to add any oil to the pan to make a splattery mess all over the place, so it's also easy to clean my stove and counter area after using this.I love that it has slightly raised sides to keep any juices from spilling onto the stove or oven, and keep foods from sliding off the pan when turning. Those juices also don't cause the food to steam as the raised grill ridges keep the food above any juices, but the heat of the pan tends to evaporate the juices fairly quickly, as opposed to a skillet which takes longer to cook off juices, and will cook the foods in the juices, which is why you want to grill some foods instead. I threw some mushrooms on the pan along with the meat, and they were nicely grilled instead of steaming in all the water they always release in a skillet.Another thing I really love about this pan is the nice, large handles, that make it so much easier to carry than the previous ones with no handles, or the kind of handle that's just a slit in the edge, making it difficult to lift off a hot burner or oven rack, or even to carry, especially when hot. The handles do make it a little more difficult to store as I can't slide it into my cabinet dividers, or fit it in the under oven bakeware drawer, but I just found a different place to keep it.One thing I was a little worried about was if it would be able to get hot enough to sear, rather than just cook, meats and veggies. This pan has no trouble getting a nice sear, and hasn't shown any issue using on a hot burner. I haven't cooked it on high, rather I use medium high, but I generally don't use high heat for any non-stick pans.It says it's dishwasher safe, but not only do I never put any pots or pans in my dishwasher, I can't see any reason to put this pan in it. It's fairly large, and would take up a lot of space, if it even fits, and is so fast and easy to clean that I wouldn't ever put it in my dishwasher.it's a very well made grill pan, which is no surprise as All-Clad makes quality products; it's at a fair price point for the quality and features, and I highly recommend it.This pan is also oven safe, although I haven't yet used it in the oven, but I have a few nice one-pan oven recipes that I love and plan to use with this pan in the future. I think it'll work well for those as it's sides aren't so high that the food will steam rather than roast, but are high enough to keep the meats and veggies from falling off.

Perfect and versatile!
I bought this because I gave up my outside grill and exchanged it for a griddle. Although, I do miss the grill lines when I make a steak on the griddle. My first thought, was to use this on top pf the griddle. After doing some research, I did learn that this is possible but there really several drawbacks, the first being this pan needs to be kept below 500 degrees, so you will need to pay attention to the temperature. Second, there were many comments about the bottom of this pan being difficult to clean and remains with cooking marks from the griddle as you are essentially laying this griddle on top of oil on a griddle. Many suggested buying a less expensive brand to mess up on the griddle, I concur. So my next thought, was to use this as intended, on top of my stove and just cooking inside when I want those griddle marks or to finish off the steak inside on the griddle. I opted for the second option, cooked my steak outside on the griddle, I brought it in when it was 20 degrees less than my desired take off the grill temperature and put the steak on this pre heated grill pan and seared in some beautiful lines! Perfection! This distributed the heat evenly and my lines were uniform. Doing it this way also made it more durable, by not ruining it on the griddle and it can easily be washed and the marks will come off, not like using it outside on an oiled surface. This is a heavy large piece, that would be my only complaint ,as storage is an issue in my home. But this is my issue! Overall, All-Clad has a good reputation and this is a quality pan and and many may find it overpriced but I have found a quality pan is always in need and hard to find. All-Clad has yet to fail me and every time I get the same results! Perfection!

Convenience and Performance.
Every stove top deserves a nonstick griddle like this 13 x 20 inch double burner All-Clad HA1 Hard Adonized model. Previously we tried to use the cast iron center piece on our three year old gas stove. It sat over top of the single center elongated burner but was really too narrow to be useful and it was very heavy to remove and clean. So, our great experience and high confidence with other All-Clad cookware motivated us to order this double burner pan. We like to use the griddle for pancakes primarily and probably grilled cheese sandwich variants because of the length, width and “drain channel” on the perimeter of the pan. The pan can be maneuvered around the stove to fairly easily although snug placement is somewhat hindered by the design of the back frame of the stove top and by the pan handle handle height. Nevertheless it works great. It heats up quickly and evenly and allows you to cook several pancakes or sandwiches at a time. Just know the performance of your stove top so you know which heat settings you want for an even temperature on the griddle surface. For example, one of our front burners has a high heat output while another on the back is for simmer with low heat. Balance the heat setting to get a nice low to medium setting across the pan and avoid potential burned food. Clean up was a breeze after the pan cooled down. A little dish soap on a non abrasive sponge and warm water was all that we needed to clean the surface. We have used All-Clad Stainless Steel D3 and D5 pans and think their performance is second two none for most food items we cook, but my wife has also used non stick for years and likes the performance and convenience so we use their products on certain foods and with specific pans like this griddle. We have no reluctance using the current generation of All-Clad non stick products and have a few NS Pro and HA1 versions. Highly recommended.
