INDUCTION cooktop, buyer beware!
Ordered this for my daughter's dorm room. Did not realize that it is induction cooktop, which means she needs to have cookware that's either stainless steel or cast iron. The unit will literally not work/get hot unless it detects the correct cookware, it gives you an error message "pot" ! Not convenient for young adults who don't know how to cook with these types of cookware. Unfortunately, we will probably be returning it. It may work fine, if induction cooktop is what you're looking for. I suggest looking up the pros and cons of using induction.Cooktop, it does have some good features.

The flat surface is easy to clean. This induction cooktop is marketed as "Commercial" grade, and it does seem to be rugged construction. In particular, I noted that it supports 100 lbs on the surface, so it could easily accommodate a large, filled stock pot.
