Well made, solid and stable
I received the Anatole commercial French fry cutter today and it is exactly what I wanted, The rubber suction cup feet adhere to my countertop very solidly and prevent the cutter from moving around when slicing potatoes. It slices thru russet potatoes with little effort. We like sweet potato fries so I ran a couple of those thru it too. Sweet potatoes are a lot more solid than russet potatoes when raw. My old slicer tool had such a hard time with sweet potatoes that it was actually easier to cut them with a knife than fight them thru the slicer. The first sweet potato I put in the slicer was a medium sized one and the pusher only drove the potato about a quarter thru the cutter blades with the same effort I used on the russet potatoes. I had to jerk the handle forward a couple of times to kind of pound the potato thru. The next two potatoes I cut in quarters lengthwise and each piece went thru with a single pull of the handle. On that first potato I jerked the handle pretty hard and the suction feet did not slip or release. Kind of surprised me that the slicer didn't move. Yet the feet released from the countertop with no effort due to the small release tab on top of each cup.The slicer is professional quality and well made. Parts fit precisely, very easy to assemble, and I suspect that it will perform flawlessly for many years to come.I would recommend this slicer to anyone looking for a high-volume production slicer and I would certainly buy again.Footnote: the rubber feet stink! They have an obnoxious chemical smell that I have noticed on other rubber products from China. I washed them in warm soapy water and it greatly reduced the smell. Maybe it will completely go away with time, we'll see.
