Pleasantly Surprised! Easy to use! Time saver!
I've been making apple pies lately using the traditional peeler and stand mixer. I was really not at all happy with the thickness of the peel - I was losing a ton of fruit and I am just not okay with that. So I thought I'd see if the non-motorized peelers were better - and then I ran across this little gem.I was impressed by the photos of the peel coming off - there was hardly any apple meat. And it was all of 20 bucks - so nothing really to lose and I ordered it. It cuts a wider peel than the more usual sort of metal peelers - so it is FAST. It looks like it would handle a wide variety of sizes of apples - mine were pretty much medium but the swing of the blade would clearly accommodate larger fruit. The bonus slicer is sharp and made quick work of coring and slicing the newly peeled apple. If you have children or grandchildren, you usually need to peel an apple and cut it up before you give it to them, this little thing can save you tons of time. Besides, my kids love it, they can use it easily with fun, made me like this more.

21st CENTURY APPLE PEELER
I'm a seasonal apple pie maker. My first peeler many years ago was a knife. Then one day while on a business trip I found a peeler/corer. What a nice upgrade. Putting it together.....shaft, springs and the spike gizmo was no big deal. The spiral apples took a little getting used to but I found that they stacked well in the pie plate. That unit held up for 20 plus years. I bought a new one of similar design...different company and from the start two years ago, I wasn't happy. The peeler never released well to the apple contour , the peels were thick and the results through the corer were less than consistent in quality.Let me tell you about EZMO. In spite of a couple of detractions the unit is a blast to use. Peeling apples is a fun experience once again. There is no component set up involved.You take it out of storage, slap an apple on it and start cranking. The peel is thin, the mechanism smooth, it gets 98% of the peel removed and when your done cranking you push a button on the handle and the apple is partially released. The next step is the slicer. Run this little puppy down through your fruit and you come away with 8 perfect sections and a core that practically falls away on its own.Now the negatives...the suction cups used to hold the unit in place are small, made of hard rubber and are useless. However, with the mediocre suction they do provide and using your free hand to hold the unit....peeling is a breeze. The other negative is that the unit is lite in weight....just doesn't feel substantial for the money.This said, treat yourself to an EZMO.They are way faster to use and the end product is fruit you'll be proud to use in your favorite apple pie recepie.

The inventor of this product deserves an award
This product made my life so much easier when it comes to peeling and slicing apples. It’s so easy to use easy to clean. I wish we had a product like this 20 years ago. I love eating apples but one of my biggest complaints is pretty much slicing the anpples and peeling off the skin. This product makes all that so much easier.

I LOVE this.
I picked 3 baskets of apples this year, some with spots and semi bad spots for applesauce, etc. This is peeling them perfect. It even gets the majority of the bad spots. It is so fast and easy to use. The suction cups don't stick to my counter but I don't even need them it goes so smootly. If you want just a peeler, this is the perfect choice. (I have used it for about a bushel of apples already)

I was worried about the weight of the plastic seems a bit cheap feel to it. But it did the job of peeling my apples for Thanksgiving. I usually make 4 apple pies. 3 bags of apples to peel. The blade seemed to be sharp. I only use it for Thanksgiving so not sure how long it will last. If your peeling apple regularly everyday. I would buy more better quality for everyday use.
