I don't have to worry about heat or water affecting the table one bit. the size is good and leaves room on both sides of a dinner plate. The color is vibrant. it holds up to spills and stains because it's easy to clean.the price is right! my only complaint is that they don't sell matching coasters because I would buy those too! the matching holder is very convenient and looks nice, allowing me to store them just a reach away. two people have already picked up one of the mats, felt the material and ask where I bought them. Classic, well made mats like this are hard to find for some reason.
