Cannot tell you how happy I am with these spoons!

I've been looking off and on for a while for a worthy grapefruit spoon set. Anytime you buy a spoon like this you have to be cautious. It has to be sharp and strong enough to saw through grapefruit flesh, yet not saw through your lips when you eat with it! I have never been so happy with a silverware purchase as I am with this one. This is the perfect grapefruit spoon. They are strong, have the perfect long scoop shape without being too thick or thin. The teeth are sharp, but somehow tuck in just under the outside edge of the bowl end of the spoon so it doesn't irritate your lips. I'd still be careful with this, just because it is still sharp and has the potential to hurt you, but I'd rather have this spoon above any other grapefruit spoon I have ever seen - other than my great grandmother's grapefruit spoons where I learned to love eating grapefruit this way as a child! Sometime soon I will think about ordering some of their other silverware products as I am very pleased with the design, finish, and feel of this set! Oh and bonus.. I actually had 7 spoons in my set! Lucky me!! I gave one to a coworker and we are grapefruit eating fools!!!Bonus: Also great for cutting through ice cream! Still in fabulous shape 8+ years later. No bending!

Good quality - No exactly as shown in the photos

I bought these as a present because of the good reviews and I thought they looked nicer than the other spoons I had seen. The ones I received were packaged very well in a nice box. The spoons inside do not look like the ones pictured. They are just normal spoons without the darker coloring that is shown in the photos. The picture insert in the box also shows the darker area on the spoon that is not on the ones I recieved. They do still seems like good quality, heavy spoons and my aunt will never know the difference but sadly I do. Overall very happy.

Great spoons

These spoons have a nice, hefty feel. They work great. I'm a big grapefruit lover, so I use them almost every day. The serrated edges are positioned perfectly. There's no issue with cutting your tongue or your lips. They come in a nice, little box, so if you use them rarely you can put them away and find them later.

Great Value for Beautiful Flatware

I had been looking for grapefruit spoons for some time and came across these. I love them. They pretty much match my Reed & Barton Dalton flatware and that made me very happy.The spoons arrived packaged very well, similar to the way my Reed & Barton set was packaged. They're a good weight and I know they will last. They've already been through numerous washings and have done well.The edges are not especially sharp but that is not an issue because we always cut our grapefruit into segments before serving it. I'm very pleased with this purchase even after a year.I'm going to pick up some round soup spoons in the same pattern because boullion spoons are not available in the Dalton pattern and I know Artaste Rain will match well enough.

Beautiful and Functional

These spoons are an elegant addition to my silverware set. I prefer a simple, streamlined design, so these are ideal for me. They work well for eating grapefruit, but they are also nice if eating anything out of a small container, such as yogurt. I prefer a narrow grapefruit spoon to fit into the sections rather than a wide one, and these are just right!
