Strong but not crushing nut cracker.
This nut cracker works great! So far I have used it to crack walnuts, hickory nuts and pecans and it cracks all of them with ease. It has really saved my hands a lot of wear. Oh, it also comes with a hand cracker and a pick. I highly recommend this nut cracker because it is sturdy, easy to use and comes at an excellent price.

Going strong
Bought for hickory nuts which are small and not the easiest to crack. This has worked great after at least 5lbs of nuts and going strong.

Really useful!
I live in a mac nut tree grove and I was using the ol' hammer method to crack the nuts. The nuts would fly off everywhere. This thing is so handy! Easy to use and cracks 'em right open without fuss. Easy-peasy. I'm not very strong and I can crack every nut easily.Use a sturdy table or bench though. Tough nuts take some torque and a wabbly table will fall over. The cracker will be fine, but you'll knock other stuff off if the table legs aren't even. Just saying.I like all the utensils it comes with too. A general nut cracker and a nut fork and so on.I just think it's a little expensive for a nut cracker, but it is worth it considering it does the job without fussing and saves a lot of time, it's worth it.Update: Keep it dry and out of the sun. It’s been about 7 months and it’s experiencing noticeable discoloring. But I had it on a porch that got occasional rain. It still works but it doesn’t look as pretty.

Junk
Broke after 30 minutes. Literally cracked about 15 walnuts and it broke. Junk.

Just OK
Not really "heavy duty." Wooden box is kinda flimsy, and sometimes I have to hold the macadamia nut in place because the adjustable toothed side is a bit wobbly, and lastly, I have to apply a lot more pressure than I thought I would, i.e., the leverage isn't great. Having said that, it is capable of cracking macadamia nuts. I guess I got what I paid for.

Taking A Chance...
A few years back, we planted an Almond tree in our front yard. This year, we got our first real crop, about 2 lbs on nuts in the shell. After removing they husks and drying the hulls, we were left with items that looked like peach pit, but up to 1/8" in hull thickness. After trying various nutcrackers, pliers, and a hammer and a brick, I was looking for a way to defeat these hard-shelled critters. After looking at several options on Amazon, I selected the Artcome as looking to be more sturdy than most. I was afraid of bending the handle, or even tearing the screws out of the wooden box.Not to worry! This tool opened each nut with a minimum of fuss and little brute strength required. Out of around 100 nuts, only one almond kernel was split in half, top-to-bottom. ALL the others come out almost dead perfect.I would heartily recommend this product for nut-cracking. Although I have not yet tried it on Filberts, Brazil Nuts, or Black Walnuts, I have no doubts that it's up to the job, probably even on Hickory nuts! One aside, cover the nut while cracking with either your cupped hand or a cloth, as the exploding nut shells will go everywhere...I am so pleased to find a well-design product that delivers as promised in this day and age. I won't be sending this one back!
