No corrosion...Great Little Steamer Pot!

This is a review of the Runzi Asparagus Pot Stainless Steel Steamer Cooker with Basket and Lid on Amazon, purchased in February 2024.I was looking for a tall-ish steamer pot to be stored in a specific larger pot...to save space in my limited cabinets. I found this pot at the right price, and the right size,* but was concerned in reading the AI “Customers say” description, explaining that while the reviews were generally good, some customers complained about corrosion stains. Yikes.Based on Amazon’s excellent return policy, and reading other reviews, I finally decided to go for it. I would try the pot carefully and return it if corrosion was a problem.So far I’ve used the pot three times, each as a steam basket for veggies (OF NOTE...never with salt, to remove this from the corrosion issue).So far, so good. In fact, I’m really learning to love this unique sized steaming pot. I love that is fits neatly on my 6” (smaller) rear burners (glass top stove). It also steams my veggies faster than expected, or t least seems that way. There’s only about an inch of space space between the pot bottom and the steamer basket bottom, so I steam it slow and easy to avoid potentially scorching the pot bottom.After each use I carefully wash, dry and inspect the pot for signs of corrosion, but it keeps looking as good as new with no conspicuous corrosion.Although made offshore, the stainless steel seems of decent quality; pot, basket and lid. I might hypothesize that the reason so many customers have experienced corrosion is that the products may have been delayed at sea during the pandemic—for who knows how long—leading to salt corrosion? Purely speculative as I am neither an engineer nor metallurgist!*I gave this item 4 stars instead of 5 for one picky reason...and really, my own fault. The measurements showing the size of the pot are in centimeters, not inches, meaning I had to use a calculator to convert. And...the stated height (20.5cm) is easy to misinterpret as the arrows only measure from the bottom of the pot to the top of the handles, instead of the top of the pot. Bottom line, I couldn’t store it as intended. But still, it’s a great pot that I would recommend to any home user, and I’m already feeling guilty for giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Shame on me. ;o)

A very well designed and made set

This set includes a pot, vented glass cover and a removeable mesh basket. Although this category of pot is characterized as an asparagus pot, it is very well suited to making two servings of pasta. This pot is replacing an earlier purchase of the same type of pot from another maker. This pot is more durable and a little larger. The best part of this set is the way the mesh basket is constructed. I would definitely purchase it again.
