These placemats are lovely - exactly as pictured and described. They were used all summer on our patio dining table and were accidentally left outside in the rain/sun/humidity of Connecticut summer a few times, none the worse for it. They clean up beautifully and are very stain resistant, even to red wine. Would totally recommend them.

I grabbed this set of heat-resistant table mats because my two toddlers turn every meal into a frenzy of spills, splats, and the odd too-hot casserole dish. After a month of heavy use, they’ve proven to be genuine sanity-savers:What I love• Rock-solid heat shield: Hot pots and baking trays go straight from oven to table without leaving scorches or white rings—so I can focus on wrangling little hands instead of scrambling for trivets.• Kid-proof cleanup: Tomato sauce, glitter glue, and mystery toddler goo wipe away with a quick swipe of a damp cloth. I’ve even rinsed them under the faucet post–finger-painting.• Soft, safe edges: No sharp corners to jab small arms; the mats flex rather than crack if someone bends them.• Bright, built-in placemat designs: The cheerful patterns double as visual “parking spots,” making it easier to teach the kids where their plates should go.Why not five stars• Slides on wood: On my wooden dining table the mats don’t grip as well as I’d hoped, so plates can skate a bit when tiny arms lunge for food. A rubberized backing would make these perfect.• During shipping the mats became deformed and despite placing heavy books on top to counter this, they still have raised sections in them.Bottom lineIf you need reliable heat protection and easy wipe-down surfaces for a household with small children, these mats are fantastic. Fix the slip issue on wood and they’d be an automatic five-star buy—until then, keep a hand ready when the kids go for seconds!
These are lightweight, you can cut to a shape if you want, easy to clean. I like them. I use some for the table, some under plants, or a lamp. I would buy them again.

These are great but easy to clean.
I came across these placemats when searching for something to put under our laptops when using them on the desk and/or the dining room table to prevent scratches and markups. They came folded up so they were pretty creased and it took a week or so for those to work out, but they eventually did. Even though the description says they are nonslip, they glide pretty easily on the wooden table and desk, which works out well for how we are using them. They would probably look nice with table wear on them,I don’t think I will use them as placement. They are very thin – almost a plastic mesh, and I think they would be difficult to clean, at least on a regular basis. It was a set of six, which was a pretty good deal, but I only needed two, so I’m using the extra ones as drawer liners.
