A great tech improvement
Many times a new gadget is release, I often wonder if it actually improves upon any of the issues we currently face in our lives. I don't have that same question with this one. My family has been through so many meat temperature probes that we don't find out aren't working until it's too late. We could never see the temperature on the probe through our oven window, so we would have to open the oven which can interrupt the cooking process. With this digital prob, I can easily see the temperature on my phone without having to open the oven. The probe is quite precise, so much so that I even used it to take my temperature one date. All in all, it's a great temperature probe that improved upon many of the issues of traditional probes. I'm happy with this purchase and will be getting another one for my Mom.

Not worth it
I really wanted to love this but it fell short. I ordered as a birthday present for my husband. He tried to use it one time and it would connect then as soon as he would walk away, it would disconnect even if he stood right by it and close the lid it would disconnect. I ended up returning. Not necessarily recommended.

No Ambient Alarm on the APP
Note that I haven't used this yet, but I don't like the fact that the ambient temperature can not be alarmed. The internal temperature can be alarmed, but for those of us that do long overnight smoker cooks, having an ambient alarm setting is a must. You need to be able to sleep and not worry about a flame out in the smoker. This would be nothing more than a simple update to the APP at no cost...not sure why they wouldn't have done this.

This is such an AWESOME little device! It was so easy to connect to my app. The app has lots of settings that lets you chose the target temperate and will give you an estimated cook time. I LOVE that it gave me an accurate and clear picture of the current temps and time frames for cooking. And it notifies youuuu when it’s done via the app and the probe housing, so no excuses for forgetting your steak and over cooking! For the money I am going to get one for each of the guys in the family for Fathers Day coming soon. Again, really love it!
