Best vacuum sealer for the price!!
So I am very big on buying in bulk due to cost food and gas due to where I live. Costco or Sam’s club is at least an hour or more away, so when I can buy in bulk I don’t hesitate. Only issue buying in bulk is when it comes to storing what you don’t cook or leftovers such as meat. If you don’t have a vacuum sealer you are more than likely will try to use the original packaging or a freezer bag. If that original packing is not vacuum sealed I can assure you that whatever you place into that storage will become freezer burnt. It’s happened to me numerous times and it has cost me $$$.I have been following Avid Armor for almost two years now and have heard nothing but good things about their products, but never purchased anything from them. Let me tell you from experience, you better keep an eye on their in stock list because when products are available they don’t stick around for long.I ordered it through Amazon the beginning of last week and wasn’t expecting it until this week, but I received it that following Saturday. Super ahead of schedule but I wasn’t complaining. Naturally I went a little vacuum crazy and started sealing everything and anything I could and testing out the different settings. Bottom line is that the A420 worked flawlessly and even after 15 straight seals in a row each bag was double sealed just like the one before it. It does have a built in fan to keep the machine cool while in use, which is very convenient as well. I will list my PROS and CONS below and post some pics and a couple videos of this sealer in use.PROS:-Does not weigh much and is easy to maneuver.-Takes up little counter space due to the small feet on the back (view pics for example).-Not very loud, won’t disturb other if done indoors. I used it in the kitchen and my wife barely heard it.-Distinct audible double “click” when the latch is closed to begin sealing. When either the left or right side is not latched the sealer will not operate.-Double heat seal to ensure product does not lose the vacuum seal.-Storage for roll of sealer bags within sealer itself, no need to find a place to store the roll when not in use.-Ability to cut your desired bag length with the built in roll cutter is great since sometimes you need a customized bag size for off shaped items (for me it was baby back ribs).-Ease of use: the instructions are pretty much self explanatory and it’s basically a plug and play kind of sealer.-Manual seal feature: You have the option to seal bags to your desired pressure. Works good for those delicate items that do not need all that pressure to seal.-Price: more expensive than your other vacuum sealers, but the quality is definitely there, so worth every penny in my honest opinion.CONS:-Price: For some this may be a little to much to pay.-Sealing liquid: For this who want to store soups/chili the sealer will pull the liquid out so be mindful of how much liquid is in the item you are sealing in these bags.-Extra material use: You must be mindful of the extra 2 inches you need from the sealer bar to the bag clips. I wish it was closer so you aren’t wasting that extra material of the bags. So it’s a combined 4 inches when making your own bags.-Stainless steel: The body of the sealer looks great with the stainless material, only issue is that it will show any and all fingerprints. If the body was the same material as the handle or more of a brushed metal this would not be an issue. This is more so for those who have OCD about finger prints on stainless objects.

Best suction power + most features for the price
This is our first vacuum sealer purchase. We researched several brands before choosing the Avid Armor A420 and for us; the Avid Armor A420 had the most features at the best price point.Pros:Very good suction for both moist and dry goodsPulse featureGreat sealEasy to operateEasy to read LED indicator lightsSturdy without being heavyCanister vacuum hose and a convenient place to stow it on the machineDrip tray is 1/2" deepHolds vacuum bag rollsStores in an upright position or sitting flatCord storageCons:Drip tray is not removableDoes not hold the 50' vacuum bag rollAdditional Notes:Although the drip tray isn't removable, it's half an inch deep and cleans up nicely with mild soap and water. We also decided the permanent tray would be better as it draws no air around it like that of a removable tray. Maximum suction was most important to us over having a machine with a drip tray.We purchased the 50 foot vacuum bag rolls knowing they wouldn't fit in the machine (better pricing for the 50 foot roll), but once you get down to around 35 feet, the roll fits into its compartment. We haven't used the canister vacuum so we cannot comment on that feature. Conclusion:We're using this machine almost daily for the produce from our garden and for the fruit from our trees. The performance has been perfect. For us, the Avid Armor A420 gives us the most ‘bang for the buck’ without compromising on features or vacuum power. We're very pleased with this machine and with proper care; we expect it to last for many years.

Quality is Worth Paying For!
You get what you pay for! I did lots of research before purchasing this Avid Armor Vacuum Sealer A420. I had one of the oldest FoodSaver machines that was about 20 years old and worked like a champ until it just recently died. But, I found that their new machines garner a great deal of negative reviews mainly directed at the business model of mass producing cheaply manufactured machines with built-in obsolescence after a short period of time requiring the purchase of yet another cheaply made machine. I wanted to avoid that. This machine fit perfectly with my goal of acquiring a well-made, commercial-quality machine that would not only work well for presumably a long time, look good in the kitchen, have stronger vacuuming power than the FoodSaver and others, be quieter than others, but also most importantly satisfy my need for an accessory port to vacuum seal canisters in order to make food last longer. This machine accomplishes satisfies all of those needs, and didn't break the bank at a sub-$300.00 price point. So far I'm extremely impressed and satisfied. Hopefully, I'll feel the same years from now. But for now, I strongly recommend the investment in this high-quality piece of kitchen equipment.

Unreliable product
I’m very unhappy with the quality of this product. It typically takes two or three attempts to seal, suction is weak and not sustained.

Definitely NOT Average!
I have owned so many food sealers. Ones that don’t work! I have a large stand up freezer and with the way the food prices keep climbing I tend to only purchase meats when it’s an amazing deal! Is it really a deal when your meat gets freezer burn?! Ever notice the wrapping on meats is getting nonexistent? This was a large purchase for our family, especially with my husband just retiring from the Army. I can say by far it is THE BEST purchase we have made! I’m still learning how to use the machine but by far anyone can operate it. I was also amazed by the packaging! It is packed inside box within a box that are very sturdy! I had to explain to my 12 year old son who had to help me unload the boxes why I wasn’t mad. What’s the advantage of getting a high quality product that is packaged poorly, just to receive a damaged product? If I could give my whole experience 10 stars I would definitely!!
