These Babadoh pizza dough molds are amazing! They make preparing, storing, and portioning pizza dough so easy and convenient. The molds are sturdy, well-designed, and keep the dough perfectly shaped until it’s ready to use. Cleanup is simple, and the results are consistent every time. If you love making homemade pizza, these accessories are a must-have. I can’t imagine making pizza night without them now!
Pro:Perfect for 230g pizza balls (12 inch round)Stack vertically in the back of my fridgeNo dry skin on the dough with a little oil (which you’ll need anyway)Nice silicone construction and thick lidDon’t need to make room in fridge/freezer for a trayBiggest pro tied to the previous is being able to pull out one at a time from the freezer to thaw in the fridgeConNeed to flour or oil inside for clean dismount (minor)Expensive!!!!Not good for pizza party nights. Stick with a proofing tray if you’re making more than 2.Conclusion:Great for portioning dough and freezing for later convenience. You could probably go cheaper and get a bunch of small plastic containers and just not clamp the lid down for gas to escape. If this was $30 or even $40 I would have bought 2 sets
For my pizzi, I use these Babadoh individual silicone containers to overnight proof in the frig.I used to use olive oil or wheat flour in the past to prevent the dough sticking in the container, but often had some sticking, or suction problems with the oil.Now I dust them with rice flour and it works really great! Rice flour doesn't form gluten, so it doesn't become sticky, and my dough balls fall out very nicely when I invert the cup. Rice flour works better than anything I've tried so far, and it cleans off very easily!
I make pizza dough and store it in the freezer, these make a nice place to store my pizza dough, ready to pull out, thaw, and bake in my pizza oven. I normally use up this amount in two weeks. The dough pops right out of the container when I'm ready to prepare the dough for the toppings, each container will make a nice 2 person pizza.
These are very useful for pizza and freezing other things
I expected a simple container that would keep separate dough portions. Well, it does exactly that, but that's not why I'm taking the time to write a review. These containers are perfectly sized for a ball of dough for 12-18" pizza. So for those of us who are Ooni or Roccbox owners, this is perfect. The silicone material releases the dough just fine (if your dough sticks, perhaps it's too wet?). It's also the best way to freeze or defrost dough for later. Portion it out into individual containers, freeze for a few hours, then put all of the frozen dough balls into a plastic freezer bag. Take one or two out and put them back into the containers to defrost overnight in the fridge.OK, so that's what it's *supposed* to do. Now for the rest...- Each one is perfectly sized for sides. Use one each for sauce, cheese, veggies, sausage/pepperoni, etc.- Really convenient to reach in and grab contents, then replace the cover without a "snap" or locking lid.- Quick storage for other food too. Got half an avocado left? Don't bother with plastic wrap or a Ziploc bag, just drop it in one of these silicone containers.- Easy cleanup. Either run it through the dishwasher or hand-wash or for many things, just wipe it down.
