Well-made oval banneton, heavier duty than others I've bought previously

Sourdough Must!

This is a great sourdough proofing banneton and has become a regular part of my baking routine. The rattan is smooth, splinter free, and feels very high quality, and the linen liner fits nicely without bunching.I have used it many times, including for cold fermentation in the fridge, and it does a great job supporting the dough as it rises. Let’s get making some bread!

This pure Indonesian rattan banneton is the perfect size at 10”. While I don’t use the rattan by itself, I may with this one. Spritz with water and dust with rice flour for a tephlon effect when proofing the dough so it doesn’t stick or get gummy. Its splinter-free and food-safe for long term use. The set comes with all the essentials for bread making. I didn’t keep the bag (oops) but I kept everything else. The Lame is nice because it’s hand-held versus the wand. I’m excited to give it a try when scoring. I’ve never used stencils before so after giving everything a good wash I think I’ll give them a try. I didn’t realize there was a ebook available but I’ll be checking into that for sure. Overall, the set is a good set. The proofing basket is already being used and one can never have enough tools. Arriving in a bag was a special touch but I didn’t need it. I have a dedicated space for my items. I would recommend this set because of the size (10”) is a good size and for the components that came with it.
