Huge wok, works great
I love Asian cooking and for years used a wok that was too small. I finally decided to upgrade, going up a few inches in size, buying me more capacity. I also get faster cooking because of the heavy weight and heat retention. This pan is a workhorse, making me feel like a pro when I’m cooking. I like the wide, flat bottom, it keeps the wok steady and maximizes heat transfer. Flames climb the side beautifully on my gas stove. I can get the whole pot screaming hot to flash fry and the pan stays hot because of the heavy cast iron. The weight is heavy but easy enough to manage with the large, robust handles. I’m not the type to pick up and flip food like a professional chef so I’m not bothered by the extra weight compared to my old stainless pan. I like that this can go from stove top to oven in a pinch, minus the wood lid. The wooden lid it nice to have when I want to steam anything. I like that the lid doesn’t get hot and require a mitt to lift it. The pan functions beautifully, it arrived pre-seasoned for immediate use.
