Sleek and functional, I like it!

A beautiful, practical, sleek butter dish! I really like it!I feel like it could do without the little ramps on either end; I've found sometimes trying to slide the square of butter up it causes it to push back into the stick and slide things around. But that's a nitpick, and definitely not worth docking any points over.I honestly didn't see myself using the included knife, or the magnetic bit that holds it on, but to my amazement, it sees daily use! The magnet is just strong enough to keep it in place, and the placement of the knife makes it easy to secure while lifting the lid, and equally easy to then grab the knife and help yourself to the necessary amount of butter!The wood material is well sealed all over, very easy to hand-clean, and the color is deep and rich, without being too "yellow." A nice, clean, contemporary accent to my black/green/walnut tri-tone kitchen, pairing well with other similarly-finished utensils.I've just written a small text wall praising a butter dish. If that's not reason enough, then let me tell you directly: Get one!

I love this butter dish! I don’t worry about breaking it, it’s lightweight, love the measurement marks and the little magnetic butter knife. The best part is it doesn’t leave butter smears from sitting the lid in the counter. When you need to clean the bottom part, just wipe out the butter streaks with a paper towel and run under a bit of hot water to melt what's left. Dry with a clean towel. Absolutely gorgeous and quite practical. Not only is it beautiful, the magnetized butter knife and tablespoon markings on the interior are efficient. We moved to an area that sells butter in the shorter, fatter sticks as well as the standard size sticks. This butter dish has markings for both sizes, making it easy to measure. The always present butter knife on top makes trips to the silverware drawer for a butter knife a thing of the past. It is also quite durable and seals nicely when closed. It is the perfect countertop accessary to compliment the 3 tiered salt/pepper/garlic holder next to my stove.
