I’ll let the picture do the talking, it’s better than I expected. I did cut a section of yoga mat to keep it from sliding around on the counter. FWIW I couldn’t find anything close to it at multiple stores and my only regret is I don’t have enough counter space for more of these.

This is working well for our potatoes and onions.
We are using these for putting fruit in to dispense fruit and veggies for our family. Putting it in a common area of the kitchen is allowing anyone to come by and pick up a fresh healthy treat any time.The bins are large enough to store quite a bit, and were much larger than I thought when ordering. The larger bottom bins are all one unit, while the top bins are independent and nest neatly on a ledge at the top rim of the bottom ones. The fit is a little loose, but i would rather have this than the bins fitting too tightly and not coming apart. I guess if you really want you could glue the top bins on, or use some sort of fastener. Bamboo is a woody product and most all wood-working rules should apply.We are currently storing:- 20 Mandarin oranges in one bottom bin- 4 large yellow onions, two net bags of garlic, and a medium sized ginger root in the other bottom one- 3 medium apples in one top bin- a bunch of 5 large bananas sticking out of the other top binIn short, it holds a lot!The bins themselves are of course made from bamboo as the title says. There is what seems to be a clear polyurethane finish on the bins, it does not seem to be a natural finish like an oil or shellac. It is smooth to the touch. This is good around food items like lemons and oranges and such that have juices that might eat through a natural finish or discolor an oil-based one.All the bins were sanded on the tops before finishing, including slightly rounded corners and edges. The 45 degree angle cuts on the front are showing bamboo end-grain and it looks handsome. The bottoms although having some sharp corners, also appear to be smooth and are finished with the poly. We won't be digging around in the bottoms too much to worry about that, as the top front of the bottom bins are easily accessible, and it is open enough to reach in to the back of the bins.In all this was a good set to get. It replaces some older wicker baskets that just got too old to use anymore. I am of the opinion that this set of bamboo bins is going to last 10 times as long, probably till we retire!
This bin is functional for the purpose shown on the product page, to keep produce separated on the counter. The bamboo is mostly smooth and finished with a few minor flaws. The packaging it came in did not have very much cushioning, so mine arrived with a small flaw on the top, but it was covered by one of the smaller bins. Overall, it's a nice aesthetic if this finish matches the kitchen. It would be nice if the bottom bin had felt or rubber pads to protect the countertop. I found this is just too large for my kitchen. For perspective, the 4 onions are extra large sweet onions and the avocados are a larger variety. The bottom bin can hold about 6 soda cans per side or 8 if the smaller bins are not placed on top. Since most of our produce is stored in the fridge, I found this is too large, but it would be good for folks who buy large quantities of produce. A 5 pound bag of large russet potatoes (about 10 potatoes) would probably fit in one half of the bottom bin. It looks like additional trays could be stacked on top since the smaller bins have grooves to stack more bins on top. However, the upper bins just sit in the grooves on top of the large bin, so I don't know how well they would stay on if the bins get bumped too much. Wood glue would probably do the trick if one wanted this to be a single unit. It is wipeable with a damp cloth. It's a heavy item that looks like it will last for a long time.
Quality solid wood, stacks easily with no assembly required. The size is right for storing things like potatoes, squash, apples, or onions in a pantry. I’m trying to do something similar on top of my cupboards but think these would work easier within reaching distance. I like how they give a more finished look to organizing food staples.
These bamboo bins are the greatest space saving solution that I have in my kitchen! I live in an old cabin in the Adirondack Mountains; because bugs and mice are around d you can’t keep any fresh foods out for them to access. I use the drawers and cabinets for that and things that are more difficult to clean off. I decided to use these for the silverware, napkins, paper plates, a few lemons and fresh laid eggs. I had considered potatoes and onions but I discovered they last longer when I keep them in a styrofoam cooler! So far I haven’t seen any evidence of mice for about a month but once the colder weather starts I probably will. I’ll have to put away the napkins or the mice will take pieces to make nests🙄 UGHThe wood is smooth and the natural color looks great with the natural color pine that is all around my cabin. The top ones can be slid forward and backwards if you have these in the cupboard and you need easier access to the top bins. They aren’t wiggly free and totally sturdy but everything else makes up for this lacking quality. I really just love these! I have other things that I can fill them up with to keep making them more useful than they were before 👍👍
