I love this gorgeous durable and amazing quality
This is a rather large tea tray, so make sure you check its size with a measuring tape before ordering! This being such a large tea tray makes it well suited for long gongfu sessions with multiple teas, or for serving larger groups of people. It is good looking and well built, and although the design is simple I would say it's an overall elegant tray while not being too "cheesy" as some are.It seems to be milled out of a single block of bamboo board, and the finishing is nice, smooth and polished to a satin appearance, with the two tone stain done accurately. In the single session I did with it I did not notice any issues with water soaking into the material or staining anywhere, and after removing as much water as possible it dried easily.Despite this, it's not ideal in terms of water management. Most importantly, it does not have any sort of internal reservoir, so water can only accumulate in the rather shallow outer channel and surface grooves. Those grooves are unfortunately too narrow, and water can't flow in them due to surface tension, so it ends accumulating on the surface in big drops.I was halfway through a tea session and the tray was already overflowing, so I had to bring in a bunch of paper towels to remove some excess water. On top of that, the drain plug on it's side started leaking after a while. It does come with a rubber tube and hand pump to drain it, but I wouldn't consider using it in the middle of a session.Overall I would not recommend this tray unless you have a rather dry gongfu style or are using a waste water container.
Took a very long time to get through customs ~1 month, but the tray looks very nice.
Size: GoodLooks: BeautifulFunctionality: PoorQuality: PoorValue for money: PoorAt first glance, this tea tray is aesthetically appealing, featuring a nice, modern design on a walnut colored wood. Unfortunately, its function is not very efficient for its appearance. I guess I should have done more research on the product information, but it wasn't clear in pictures that this required a tubing apparatus to drain liquid. You cannot disassemble this tea tray, and the small holes on the one side of the tray oh-so slowly drain liquid. Because of this, the tea just accumulates in the limited spaces of the wavy lines. The tea ends up collecting in the perimetry where it turns into a moat because the holes don't drain efficiently. The tubing attaches to the tray efficiently and is easy to use. Truthfully, I thought this was a tray you can remove to empty the liquid because the item description said that this tray was "vintage."For some reason, the tea color is blue and grainy, which is just not the color of my tea. There's some kind of residue on the inside of the tray. So, now that I've drained my tea tray, the screw to plug the hole is now loosened, and somehow the screw is lop-sided so that it does not create a complete seal to hold the liquid in. It's a screw. There's not much to it, so it's not clear why the tea tray no longer has a good seal on it when putting the screw back on. Now, when I use the tea tray, it just continues to leak which is clearly not what I bought it for. It is not creating the seal it had when I first bought it, so definitely tossing this out and looking for another tea tray. I do not recommend buying this tea tray.
Love this tea tray, artfully designed and of great quality. 5 stars !
This is my 4th tea tray and non of them work like they are supposed to. There’s no natural slope to drain so the water just sits there. looks really nice I wish they were more practical.
Elegant but everyone keep asking me, what's that for? I like it anyway.
