This is perfect to organize kitchen ustensils. Great quality for the money. I have custom cabinets so I used these horizontal instead of vertical but it’s perfect. Looks great and organized different items. Very functional and have easy access to exactly what I need in that moment.
The finish is really bad quality, almost looks like spray paint. One of the two boxes also had small gaps in the bottom of the wood.
Finally got my utensil drawer organized. I had some spring loaded dividers before, but they tended to slip around in the drawer and the stuff inside would shift and jumble. Having tools and utensils and everything organized and nested snuggly inside these boxes keeps things neat and organized. My husband and I cook everyday, so having things organized is key. Nothing is so frustrating as digging around looking for a special tool to transform the raw ingredients while things are cooking and waiting on the stove. These boxes organize everything so neatly and quickly making the cooking process a lot more enjoyable.
These organizers are good...but not GREAT.Pros:*They are sturdy and very precisely made.*The inside storage space is 16.25"x5.25", which is long enough for spatulas/carving knife/microplane/tongs/etc, that often don't fit in shorter organizers.*They do stack perfectly, if that is a feature you want.*They are only 2.5" tall overall, so if you want to use them in the pencil drawer of a desk, which is usually shorter than a kitchen drawer, they could fit. I was able to close my desk drawer with these in it.Cons - these are probably more personal to me, but FWIW:* I didn't realize these were stackable (although yes, it clearly says it in the title) and I don't have drawers deep enough to make use of the stacking feature. They're still useful unstacked, but because they have a 1/4" lip on the bottom, you are losing that extra 1/4" of vertical space. Not a big deal, but in my spatula drawer some items are *just nearly* as tall as the drawer opening, and that extra 1/4" makes it so I have to be very careful opening and closing the drawer so those items don't jam. I moved the organizers to a different drawer because the hassle wasn't worth it.*These are made from 1/4" Luaun plywood. I am familiar with this material because I've worked with it a lot for building and DIY projects. It's strong and light, but...it has a "fuzzy" texture if it's not well-sanded. These boxes have that "fuzzy" feel to them. In the second photo the light kind of shows how the grain of the wood is visible and you can feel it. Now, they're in a drawer and you're not going to touch them a lot, so who cares, right? But if you accidentally spill something in it when the drawer is open (it happens!) the spill is going to settle in that grain. If you try to clean it with a paper towel, all the paper fibers are going to catch on that "fuzzy" texture like velcro. And if you're using these for an outside-the-drawer application, like on top of a dresser or desk as storage, you should know that the paint looks like matte spraypaint and they have that fuzzy texture with very visible graining, so they look very utilitarian. For the price point, I would just like them to have been sanded smooth.
