The baskets do a solid job holding dough and helping get that nice crust and shape, which makes it a great starter kit for beginners like us.The dough can stick to the basket, so cleaning takes a little extra effort. I received this product for free through the Vine program.This bread-making kit has a lot to offer, especially for someone who’s just testing the waters of home baking. It comes with most of the accessories you could want, including tools to make your bread look prettier, and a helpful little recipe booklet. A few of the items feel like they’ll stand the test of time, which is a nice bonus for beginners who want to explore baking without immediately investing in higher-end tools.That said, there are some drawbacks. The silicone mat is incredibly thin and doesn’t feel very durable, and the Banneton baskets seem a bit small. The bread lame is tricky to set up—the blade is brittle and easy to snap, and it’s not immediately clear how it’s supposed to sit in the handle. I also didn’t enjoy having to pop out all the cutouts from the decorative stencils, though that did give the option to use both positive and negative space for decorating.Overall, this kit is fun and functional for beginners, but a few pieces could definitely be improved for durability and ease of use.
