I got this for my coffee station instead of for a bar. I was hoping it would keep the coffee grounds, sugar, and drips contained somewhat. Aside from the sugar, it does the job. Unfortunately, it seems as though the sugar gets everywhere if it gets somewhere. I am not going to blame that on this mat, however. It is quite possible it is due to the container I have the sugar in.It would be nice if the mat was able to have the cup holder rings on the bottom half without inverting the printed image, but it is what it is, so there's that. I suppose if I REALLY wanted to, I could put the plain side up instead of the printed side to overcome that issue.The corners of the plastic liner go inside of the corners of the rubber mat, which helps to keep it in place, but when cleaning up sugar, it does make it more difficult to keep it from spreading. That being said... cleanup is still easy, even with the sugar, and easier without. I have used it for drying coffee parts when it is clean, and that is nice, so I imagine it would do well on a wet bar. It also comes with a second insert, so you can let one dry while using the other. It folds pretty decent and seems as though it ought to hold up pretty well.Although it is a utilitarian piece, it still manages to look pretty nice with the reliefs and printed design, and it has helped to keep the mess around my coffee maker contained more than the previous towel/paper towel/bowl combination, so I think that makes this product a win. Also... with as many bars as I've seen these used in, I imagine there is a reason for it.

Super easy to clean and keeps our coffee area tidy
My family loves french press coffee but after everyone is caffeinated for the day, the counter is always a mess with grounds, sugar, and cream. I ordered this in an effort to handle some of that issue. The design is a great size - plenty room to work on but still leaves lots of other counter space, and the raised nubs and outer edges give liquids and tiny granules somewhere to go but keeps them managed. The silicone has texture that's easy to brush off and there was no chemical smell when it arrived.I particularly liked that there are two inserts that slip into the corners of the silicon mat, so I always have a clean/dry one ready to use. And the mat is extraordinarily easy to keep clean, too. Even if it's been sitting a bit, a swish with some warm water and dish soap is all it takes.We decided over the holidays to use it as a bar mat instead of a just coffee station mat and were pleased with that use, too. It's thick enough that even a heavy highball glass doesn't thunk down on the counter top and had plenty of room for all the accoutrements of holiday cocktails.This wasn't a kitchen item I knew I wanted, but it is my favorite thing I've added to the kitchen in a while. Totally worth the money - less than a weekend coffee run!
