Bad for pro use, OK for home use.
I wanted to like this jigger so badly. For context, I’m the head bartender at a NYC rooftop. My go-to jigger is the Barfly one with the little spout (pictured left of this one). I adore that tool, IMO it’s the best jigger ever and I was hoping to complement it with this wide-mouthed one. Unfortunately they work too differently.Firstly, the markings on the wide one are under the lines rather than above. Not only is it bad placement, it throws me off when I’m trying to use both jiggers at once. If I were only using this jigger, maybe I could get used to it, but even that seems like it could be confusing and cumbersome.Secondly, the .75oz line is unmarked, which makes it look like it’s the 1oz line. The seconds wasted during a service rush with this issue just aren’t worth it. The markings should be above the lines so that the top measurement reads 2oz because you already know up to the rim will be 2.5 ounces.Thirdly, I guess I got too used to my spout jigger, but pouring with this wide-mouthed one can lead to unwanted splashes. You can’t just dump this jigger into a glass, you gotta be careful pouring it. Using it like my other jiggers, I was dumping a third of my liquid onto the rail. With the spout one I’m almost slamming my jigger into the glassware without looking, that’s how controlled I can pour from it. This one requires more focus and precision, which is time-consuming in a busy bar.My fave things about it are the gold finish, high volume, the accuracy and the wide base, which allows me to use this jigger one handed without picking it up. It’s wide enough to see into it easily unlike the spout one (its only downside). It’s also very hard to knock over unlike Japanese style jiggers.Other than that, it’s just a little too wide to handle comfortably. I was hoping to use it simultaneously with another jigger in the same hand to have a 5oz volume to work with, but due to its size and bad markings, it’s incompatible.Barfly really needs to revamp this jigger: reposition the markings to be over the lines, have the last marking before the rim say 2oz, and add a mini spout. I wouldn’t mind it being slightly taller and narrower either, sacrificing width for comfort while still being wide. If they adjust these issues, it could be a game changer jigger like their spout one has been for me. Until then, this is unfit for professional use yet just fine for a home bar.

It could be better
Nice feel, seems accurate and looks nice. Thing is, there’s no internal measure stamps. So, you have to memorize the measuring lines from the outside. Nice present from the wife….bought on my Amazon account, with “our” money.

Accurate measurements
My favorite go to jigger. Accurate measurements however I would suggest after a year and a half of use, a lot of use, to go with the stainless steel version versus the painted version due to fading and discoloration
