Nice slotted spoon.
This slotted spoon looks very nice and works great. It's very lightweight which is nice, but it's also much thinner than I expected it to be. It doesn't feel fragile though. I wouldn't recommend using the dishwasher so there is some work involved in cleaning but it's really easy. I hand wash and towel dry immediately because those were the instructions on my other teak utensils. It's a very good size too. It feels nice in my hand and it's easy to use just like any other slotted spoon.

Nice alternative to plastic
Largely just as I expected. Wood is beautiful and I think will hold up well. The scoop/bowl part is flatter than I anticipated and maybe a bit bigger than it looks in the pictures. I think it will work well though.

Beautiful Pasta Fork, but Lacking Practical Depth

Beautiful, functional wooden utensil.
This pasta spoon is absolutely gorgeous. The finish on it makes it very easy to wash and the quality is excellent. It looks great in my utensil holder on the kitchen counter. I love this!

Beware! Probably Not Food-Safe!
We were excited when we first received this teakwood pasta fork. It arrived in attractive packaging and when we opened the box we were impressed with the beautiful wood. The pasta fork was nicely crafted and felt nice in our hands. I was pleased and looking forward to using it. Upon examination we noticed a couple of rough spots that would need to be sanded down, and a small chip that had occurred and been addressed in manufacturing. Nothing we could not overlook. But then, on closer examination, we noticed two disturbing things. The first was that there appeared to be some sort of matte black coating on the cut areas of the wood. The coating was clearly applied in some manner for aesthetics. The second thing we noticed was that some sort of hard, shiny coating had been applied to the surface of the wood. We are very familiar with wood finishes, and this was a huge red flag. We tried to get more information on these materials from their customer support, and received only evasive and disingenuous responses. We still don’t know what the black coating is; it’s possibly some sort of stain. The hard clear surface coating is clearly some sort of lacquer or varnish. Neither of those types of wood finishes are food-safe and they are not at all appropriate for wood items to be used in food preparation, especially around heat. We are so disappointed, and frankly angry, because this is a beautiful piece of wood that has been wasted and rendered useless.

A well made and useful spoon for cooking pasta
We were intrigued with the unusual design of this Pasta cooking spoon. It is a great spoon for cooking any pasta, but we sometimes serve spaghetti straight from pot to plate, and it isn’t ideal for that. It is made from very attractive teak, and the overall design is very pleasing. You can see from the picture we’ve included that one of the openings on the rim of the spoon is chipped, and slightly out of shape. It does not affect the usefulness of the spoon, but is a significant visual flaw that should have been caught by quality control. Other than that one defect it is beautifully made and finished. We are glad to have it in our wooden spoon collection.
