These spatulas seem to be well made and high quality. I have been replacing all my plastic cooking utensils with wooden or stainless steel. The wooden ones are environmentally friendly and are very sturdy. The size is perfect for many uses in the kitchen. They are also very attractive. The only downside is that they are not good to put in the dishwasher because it eventually wears away at wood but they are very easy to hand wash.
I feel like the advertising on these "Natural" Teak Wooden Utensils is slightly misleading. Yes, wood is natural but these are not unfinished, in the raw wood state. If you look at the wooden hole at the end of the handle you can see unfinished light colored wood as well as a little bit of the staining color that seeped into the hole. Does staining make these bad utensils? Not necessarily - I have wooden utensils that appeared to have been stained from another company that I have used for years. The wood is beginning to share significant wear and a couple of the spoons are starting to crack so I am looking for replacements. I am undecided about these as far as healthy staining methods since the details are not given. They look nice and feel firm and sturdy but I do feel like the advertising is misleading and the country of origin was not disclosed in the listing. A sticker on the box they come in says, Made in China. I would not order again -- not because I do not like these but because I prefer upfront, transparent product information.
This is for two teak spatulas, one solid and one slotted. The handle feels good in my hand. The wood is smooth. Reading the care card, it says to hand wash only and to use mineral oil to keep the wood conditioned. I’m in the process of eliminating plastic from my kitchen. This is a great place to start.
We were excited when we first received these teakwood turners. They arrived in attractive packaging and when we opened the box we were impressed with the beautiful wood. The turners were nicely crafted and felt nice in our hands. They were beautifully tapered and looked like they would work well for turning and flipping food in pans - their intended purpose. I was pleased and looking forward to using them. Upon examination we noticed a couple of rough spots that would need to be sanded down. Nothing we could not overlook. But then, on closer examination, we noticed two disturbing things. The first was that there appeared to be some sort of matte black coating on the cut areas of the wood. The coating was clearly applied in some manner for aesthetics. The second thing we noticed was that some sort of hard, shiny coating had been applied to the surface of the wood. We are very familiar with wood finishes, and this was a huge red flag. We tried to get more information on these materials from their customer support, and received only evasive and disingenuous responses. We still don’t know what the black coating is; it’s possibly some sort of stain. The hard clear surface coating is clearly some sort of lacquer or varnish. Neither of those types of wood finishes are food-safe and they are not at all appropriate for wood items to be used in food preparation, especially around heat. We are so disappointed, and frankly angry, because these are beautiful pieces of wood that have been wasted and rendered useless.

my set came with two slotted spatulas. these are about 12" long and just under 3" wide at the working end. they are well made and sturdy. it came with very helpful 'use & care instructions'- do not put in dishwasher- avoid soaking in water for a longtime (sic)- after several uses apply mineral oil- if surface gets rough sand with 320 grit sandpaper
Well made. These have a nice feel to them, smoothly sanded so they feel good in your hand. I really like the edges, they're tapered to a fine edge so it's easy to flip things with them.
