Wood ladle to the rescue!

I have a large collection of very expensive cast iron dutch ovens and have been replacing all my metal spoons, spatulas, etc with wood to prevent damage. So happy to have finally found a good sized wood ladle! The others I've seen were always much too small to be adequate replacements for my large metal ladles, but this one is perfect! I make a lot of stews and like to dish out big helpings and this will work great. I really love that it has a hook to keep it on the edge of the pot. No more losing the ladle in the soup! Great find

Quality Control Issues

This spoon looked great right out of the box. Upon closer inspection the applied finish is inconsistent. Part of the underside of the spoon had no finish at all. The hook that allows the spoon to rest on a pot edge is a nice feature… but mine was splintered and poked my hand when I went to pick it up. I would spend more to get a better quality product.

Teak is nice but no to lacquer

The solid teak is nice but the finish is just ok. The entire ladle is coated in lacquer...except for a spot on the handle that they missed. I generally don't like lacquer on my wooden kitchen utensils, since some lacquers contain some bad stuff. If it's natural Ottchil lacquer, then great, but the packaging and description should make this clear.

Great wooden ladle

I've been working on swapping over all of my utensils to wood because I just want to get the plastic out of my house. One that I was having trouble finding was a good ladle. This one I was very impressed with. It's pretty deep. I've used it three or four times for soups since getting it and I've had no concern with portions.
