I absolutely love this set! It is sturdy. It is not super heavy, but it is not light either. It feels well crafted. It was import to me to have silverware with weight. The lighter silverware feels cheap and can be dropped easily. I got the 48pcs silver. I think the Gold would have looked even better. It is easy to clean and stays shiny and polished looking after almost a month of daily use and wash. I didn't put them in the dishwasher because I don't use my machine. I will probably give them a quick dry with a microfiber cloth afterwards when I do use the dishwasher.
Took a chance on these, and must say, I'm glad I did. I've tried a number of black flatware and been disappointed every time. Usually, the black is dull and lifeless. This is actually shiny and polished. There doesn't seem to be any potential for rust. The pieces feel good in your hand. Sometimes hammered silverware can be rough on the bottom edges. While not perfectly round, these aren't abrupt either. The knives come to a good tip and the forks have just enough point to grab onto your food easily. I think I'm going to have to order another set to have a full 8 pieces for each. These are the ones everyone is going for when they reach in the drawer now. And they look amazing with black accented plates!
