Bought this since my vitamix cracked. I was worried this would not be nearly as good as theirs. We'll so far I have no issues with this generic version. It holds up to crushing ice daily for smoothies. I am overall happy with my purchase.
Works well for me. It is working better than my old vitacost brand one before it cracked. The one drawback is that the container probably has BPA in it.
Perfect fit and hard to tell not original
The original that came with the Vitamix lasted me years before needing to be replaced. This one started leaking slightly from the bottom within just a couple of months, then became totally useless in under 9 months of light use. My husband says the bearing is shot. You can see in the photo where the cocoa that leaked from the bottom has dried. The metal is also flaking away. I don’t use it every day, and it was only used to make smoothies. Very disappointed.
Fits and works perfect! A great value!
Good: works as advertised and is compatible with my 6300 blenderAdequate but disappointing: fit and finish is clearly inferior to the original in the following ways - bearings feel good when new but are not sealed as well as original and quickly become notchy, they will not last as long. Plastic material is obviously a lower density polymer, possibly thinner, so I'm curious how it will handle very hot liquids. The pitcher's base does not fit as tightly onto the corner knobs of the blender, so it has more rotational play.Additional info: I made the mistake of putting this in the dishwasher, which it says in the included documentation NOT to do, and the water sitting on the bearing surface showed signs of oxidation/rust, plus the bearings immediately more notchy. I was able to put the original pitcher into the dishwasher for years before the bearings became notchy and the retaining nut's paint fully exfoliated from oxidation.If you are looking for a short term solution, perhaps this pitcher is a good value. However, over the long run, I suspect that it's no less expensive than the genuine Vitamix branded replacement, because the Vitamix one should last at least 4x as long as this one.
My 81 year old widow was getting rid of things after his wife died and let me buy his old vitamix for 20.00. It works great but I ended up breaking the Pitcher. I ordered this one on amazon hoping it would work and it did! Great product.
